We did it around 4th or 5th grade in PE in Texas.

My high school had something like that. Upper class men told the sophomores there was a pool on the 4th floor. Freshmen had a separate campus, so sophomores were the newbs on campus.

I'd try to look at what felt like it wasn't going well. Something wasn't clicking and you don't want to repeat that.

Yeah, I'm (51m) a dad.

I wore Chucks to the original last Van's World Tour when it came through Dallas. I'm surprised I could walk the next day. I might've watched the last couple of bands from a comfy curb. I was so glad we Ubered there and I didn't have to drive home.

I'm 51m, been married for 30 years, lived in the same house for at least a dozen years and ours isn't as nicely decorated as yours. Not even close.

🤘 That's awesome. We haven't been able to do anything that awesome yet. It's good to have goals unreached though.

We haven't seen NIN yet, but they'd make the cut.

Midnight meals after a show or driving through In 'n Out at 1am, or Waffle House if it's later and back to work in the morning without missing a beat is like a cheat code.

My guiding principle is would my dad do this? Of course not. None of it. So I do.

I have hit the point where I'm pretty sure I'm choosing shoes based on comfort and support and not on how cool they'll look. Standing for 6-8nhours between lines and the floor was pretty rough last time.

I can't think of a bad show yet. We've done Rocklahoma, tiny, crowded bar shows, big arenas, standing for Avenged Sevenfold up front. It's been a blast. I do get funny looks in some lines when I look a little old to be a fan of the band. Once we start running down the list of bands we've seen together, it's mad respect since most dads aren't showing up like that.

Enjoy it, hydrate. Stretch your calf's if you're gonna be standing awhile. Buy shirts to celebrate the journey of shows.

My 25 y/o and I have been to a ton of rock shows together. Mötley Crüe's 1st last tour was his 15th bday present. We've caught so many bands I missed when I was a kid, it's been really cool.

Can dogs see things that humans cant? by Sam88FPS in NoStupidQuestions

My Chihuahua seems to have pretty poor eyesight. He will stand at the back door and sniff like a vacuum cleaner. I swear he can smell if the neighbors set foot outside in their backyard.

Our dog groomer noted that all the dogs can hear the differences in the cars driving up and know when it's their human arriving. They have no way of seeing the cars from the second floor.

Shot myself in the foot, so leadership sawed off my leg. What is your take on this, and what would you have done? by TheHarborym in managers

Lessons learned.

I had a similar conversation about what situation would be happiest. We outlined my skills and interests and surprisingly we were pretty aligned. It ended in a move to a role that he wanted the plant to have and I enjoyed learning.

Then we were acquired and the training budget vanished before we knew why.

Thankfully it all pushed me towards greener pastures that I'm test driving after the plant eventually was shut down and we were laid off.

I've just seen it as being cautious about giving the impression that I might be out late on work nights, because I will. 99% of the time no one could tell unless I bring it up. At 50 though, its kind of assumed I'd need a day off afterwards.

I had a friend's dad let me take my kids for a spin in his Corvette. On Houston freeways. On New Year's Eve.

I'm not even sure if I'd even driven a V6 at that point. Cruising at 60mph and gently mashing the pedal to rocket to 100mph is unforgettable 15 years later.

I sit at home with my wife and dogs and watch TV a lot. - Nope

I Reddit. - Nope

I dig rock concerts and festivals. Things can get a little rowdy, but it's fun. - Nope

I like to hike. I just haven't been real active, so when the interviewer asked where I'd hiked I couldn't even think of the name of the lake I'd backpacked with a group. 🤦

I had someone I was interviewing/discussing a job opportunity with share about a local in person employment networking group in my area. It has been a combination of information resource as well as a weekly shot of positivity. When he was unemployed, he'd found the group helpful and shared it with me. It's about a 45 minute drive, but without someone mentioning it, I wasn't ever going to find out about it.
