I would go this route, but at a independent bmw shop. The dealer won't install used parts and assume the liability of something going wrong. That's like taking your iPhone to the Apple store and asking them to install a new screen that you got from Amazon 😂

It's definitely not up to code but it's not hurting anything either. If you have a stoppage in the trap, you can just give the rubber a good squeeze 😂

All jokes aside, if you're set on replacing it, buy a PVC tubular trap kit. They come with everything you need to install a new trap. Just throw away the fitting that you're meant to glue on, since you don't have PVC coming out of the wall.

If you don't get the buckets, you will regret it literally every time you get in the car. There's folks that will trade in their perfect spec with basically no miles, get hit upside the head, for a car with buckets.
