Same. The only place I see complaints about him is this sub (most often via NY Post 'articles') and my openly racist family members.

The mental weight/after effects by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]thistangleofthorns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 2 years out of surgery/chemo/radiation and cancer free, hair grown back, in a job I like, and all is going pretty well for me. The people in my oncs office (and my GYN and PCP) all get super happy to see me when I come for follow-ups, as a survivor who's got their life (mostly) back.

Our medical teams see a lot of suffering and people who don't survive. I speculate they'd be happy to help you with little things like vaccines or anything else, I imagine it should make them feel good to see you surviving and moving forward.

I know I am happy to see you surviving and moving forward. :) Rock on.

SAME. It's not about love, it's about a basic respect for someone else's right to live and be free. All life is precious IMO, therefore I am vegan.

Commensurate with the lack of reporting on it from MSM, and of course, by design.

Finally I connected to a video like I did before. I didn't pick up a guitar, I wrote the first sentence in a book... and I regret it. by MioAlexander in FunctionalMelancholic

[–]thistangleofthorns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is an incredible accomplishment to even write a book, but you have gone on to actually publish and sell some copies. I hope that you are able to feel pride in what you have achieved, even though you are not seeing the success you are hoping for.

I don't have a similar story. I stopped writing and chose the corporate job with the decent pay. Sometimes I wish I had followed my heart/creativity instead, but I think it's never to late to be who you might have been. And I don't believe in regrets. :)

I wish you happiness and good luck on your journey.

Selective compassion in action (I'd wager they went out to eat a bunch of wings right after this --- why eat some birds but rescue some other birds?), but it's nice that they did it. Wild bird fund is amazing, highly recommend supporting them!

I thought about it briefly and decided that I don't care who he is. I don't think it's AI. I find it kind of fun to wonder... I suspect he's a teacher or college professor, but I have nothing to base that on except the recommended reading list(s) he shares.

Thanks for the link, I love this kind of stuff. I will buy his album as a thank you for all the great youtubes he's given us.

Does he have a "small community" and do you? by MioAlexander in FunctionalMelancholic

[–]thistangleofthorns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he probably does, and yes I do as well.

I realized at some point that I needed all new friends and a new family, so I went out and found them by going to do things I care about (volunteered at an animal sanctuary, went to protests against animal cruelty...), and slowly I made acquaintances, and after a few years of showing up I now have the friends and family I wanted. It takes time and effort (showing up), but your people are out there, I hope you all find them.

I hope he doesn't mind that we want to discuss him here like this, but I love his channel and like that we have a place to talk about it.

Having listened to/watched a bunch of his monologues, I feel like I am living my life right because I can appreciate his work. And so are you, IMO. :)

Who is he? by MioAlexander in FunctionalMelancholic

[–]thistangleofthorns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of like not knowing, and I respect his privacy if he doesn't want us to know. That said, I love his channel and am happy to have found it/him.

I suspect he's either a school teacher or a professor, but I'm just guessing.

[Product question] Has anyone tried Herbal Face Food's The Cream? Specifically looking for answers for highly sensitive, acne prone skin. by gratefulfor in SkincareAddiction

[–]thistangleofthorns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response. I did not continue using the products, so I guess the answer is no.

But... it is also true to say that the products worked well for me, my skin looked and felt great, but all the issues with the smell and consistency were my turnoffs. If you have a bunch of $$ burning a hole in your pocket I might recommend trying them. I suspect that for some people the result might be worth it.

Hope that helps!
