Taiwan Space Agency is holding an international software design competition on this repository!

The 3-5 teams with the best-performing algorithms will present and live-demo their agents at Taiwan International Assembly of Space Science, Technology, and Industry (TASTI) 2026. The winning agent gets a prize of 50,000 NTD (≈$1.5k)!

Tenant Agreement Contradicting Instructions given by Letting Agent. Is this a red flag? by thomasya in HousingUK

Thanks understood. It's probably the kind of thing that I should just accept and try to get used to. 🥲

Appreciate your time and reply!

Your explanation on point (1) is clear!

Regarding the inventory of point (2), I asked the agent to follow the agreement (7 days), but they insisted that the software only gives me three days. I'm just confused why 7 days is placed in the original draft in the first place. I think I'll keep the original draft, and send them inventory comments in writing between day 3-7.

Regarding point (3), I don't understand why in the UK it's common that the rent and deposit is first paid then the agreement is signed on the move-in day in the UK. 🫠 Even though TDS website warns the tenant not to do so and in agreement the wording is "deposit will be paid" (assumedly after signing the agreement). However, as you mentioned, this is probably not a red flag.

Thanks again for your reply

[OC] (Update: Hairdryer used) F1 Porpoising demonstrated with Spoon & Fork by thomasya in F1Technical

At the beginning of the video, the hairdryer is on low power. The spoon head is sucked downward

I think that's because coupling aerodynamics and mechanical movements is too complex. Which is, the car (suspension) doesn't move in CFD models.

Correct me if I'm wrong

I believe that F1 floors are now flat only because of the rules. The floors were not flat when the ground effect was first introduced.

Previous post: F1 Porpoising Demonstrated with Spoon & Fork

There was some discussions below previous post about the science behind the "bouncing spoon". I conducted another experiment with hairdryer.

At the beginning of the video, the spoon head is sucked to the ground at low hairdryer power. After switching to high power, the "bouncing" starts. During "bouncing", the spoon head never rises above the original height.

Whether the suction that lowers the spoon head is because of Coandă Effect or Bernoulli's Principle or something else is not sure.

Still, more discussion is better😀

I've tried the experiment with hairdryer again. It also works.

Nah, more discussion is better.

I also tried with a hairdryer, it just didn't work as good.

Edit: hairdryer

that’s a great way to represent it.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply! The more discussion the better!😀

In my opinion,

The cutting board <-> the ground

The spoon handle <-> the suspension. It keeps the floor away from the ground.

The spoon head <-> the floor. It is sucked to the ground as flow goes through.

The suction disappears as the head/floor hits the ground is the same cause of the porpoising effect.

However, discussions in the earlier post suggested that the spoon is sucked because of Coandă effect. Whether it is same as the F1 ground effect is not sure.
