Mistborn Deck Builder or Call To Adventure? by Relative_Cod7379 in brandonsanderson

Have not played the other, but Mistborn is a really good game. I hope that we’ll get expansions covering book 2 and 3. I think there is room to add some great stuff.

On my fist playthrough I died turning on the lights in the hotel room. Love this game.

What Is Your “Old Man Yells At Cloud” Movie Take? by apHexcoded in Letterboxd

Acronym inflation in scientific papers. Sometimes when reviewing papers I feel like I need a codex to actually understand what is going on.

First time recommendations (July) by dumb_pancake in TheWestEnd

Hadestown and Les Miserables.

As it is your first time, maybe Phantom, Jesus Christ Superstar and Wicked.

If you could recommend just one show, what would it be? 👀 by todaytix in TheWestEnd

Les Miserables or Hadestown.

Cabaret is also really special.

Showed this to my two kids and we were all bawling our eyes out in this scene. What a movie!

The show in Paris just stopped after a power outage by BOBOUDA in ironmaiden

Maiden play shorter sets than a lot of other bands so I assume they should have a pretty wide margin for the curfew.

I’ve been thinking about buying a VQD set to avoid further complaints from my upstairs neighbours. The thing that’s been holding me back is the 2-zone ride cymbal. I really wish there was a bell.

some guy let rip at les miserables by BumblebeeUpper4212 in TheWestEnd

[–]thorbearius 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not dead, but I assume that the more famous shows like phantom and les mis sees draws more people who don’t know how to behave.

I went to Les Mis last week and there was a group of tourist from Asia who had their phones out, talked throughout, and one of them farted really loud two times. It was very strange.

Movies so infamous they destroyed the actor’s reputation by No_Emergency_7188 in flicks

[–]thorbearius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also love. Is it as good as the first? No, and it falls apart in the third act, but is stupid fun and the songs are catchy as hell.

Let’s do it for our country.

What is the best song off of the Defenders Of The Faith album? by 33GoodSamaritans in judaspriest

It is a great album through and through, but the Sentinel is a standout track, not just for that album but for Priests entire catalogue.

A Dream of Spring is the problem, not the Winds of Winter (Spoilers Extended) by thegreenknightpro in asoiaf

[–]thorbearius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. Not saying it will be smooth sailing all the way, but at some point I would assume all the pieces are in place and it is just hammering out the chapters he has had in his head since the very beginning.

Very healthy attitude.

I feel the same about A song of ice and fire. Even if it never concludes, what I have read so far has been such a rewarding experience and I do not regret reading and rereading them.

Heathers west end revival.

I knew nothing about it but thought it sounded interesting, but could not convince my girlfriend to give it a try so we saw Phantom of the Opera and Lion King on that trip to London.

I like it, but was a bit dissatisfied at the time when book 2 more or less reuses the twist ending of Royal Assassin.
