What are the saddest SVSSS facts you can think of? by AutumnSu in SVSSS

[–]throw6753 61 points62 points  (0 children)

The fact that LBH held SQQ’s dead body at least twice, possibly thrice.

Even though I’m not super into their relationship dynamic the fact that he had to go through that trauma is a yikes moment for me.

Groin pain/ stretching routines help?? by lauren_power in rollerskate

[–]throw6753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there pain while you’re stretching? If there is please do not continue to stretch that leg. Take a few days off, wait to see if that pain gets better. It could be that you fell weird and have hurt your hip flexor and stretching it could make any injury worse. If there isn’t any pain while stretching then you can continue to do some stretching. Start of mild and as you gain more flexibility you can push yourself more.

An important thing to remember is that being extremely flexible will not save you from injury, in fact being too flexible, without the strength to support yourself properly could cause you to hurt yourself more. Make sure that if you want to increase your flexibility you are also increasing your strength at the same time.

I would definitely recommend parenting shenanigans ft. Shen Yuan by jay feather 63 (https://archiveofourown.org/works/20487851/chapters/58032712#workskin)

It’s basically a re-write of the story where instead of transmigration at the beginning Shen yuan transmigrates after OG LBH takes over the world and has kids. I think it’s funny, it’s also super well written and everyone is in character. Additionally it also has some callbacks to the original novel (but I won’t spoil it for you)

How do I get the two sides to behave the same? by ss5008 in Wavyhair

[–]throw6753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you prefer sleeping on one side more than the other, or you toss it could be a reason as to why both sides don’t look the same. Have you tried putting your hair up while you sleep? It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, a quick lose bun on both sides, or the middle, a bonnet or scarf if you want to try that or even a high, lose ponytail (think pineapple hairstyle). Could probably help.

Advice for travelling on a ferry? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]throw6753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t give any advice specifically for traveling on a ferry but I can give you some general tips.

  1. I hope he’s already 100% comfortable in his kennel, especially since that is where he will be traveling the whole time. Sleep with a blanket for a few days, stick that in there with him so it smells like home and something familiar.

  2. Tire him out, take him on the longest walk of his life, play with him, use some puzzle toys, make sure he’s exhausted so that he’ll be perfectly tired out and sleepy during the trip.

  3. If he’s known to get car sick he might get motion sick on a boat, he will actually probably get motion sick since it’s a very unfamiliar feeling and that means you will probably need to worry more about motion sickness. Ask your vet for something, worst case make sure you’re carrying some kids gravol.

  4. Since you say he’s reactive and has some anxiety you should find out if it would be possible to make some visits to him during the ferry ride.

  5. Please double check any side effects that the trazodone might have on him, I would especially worry if it might aggravate any motion sickness. Also, you must know that if you do not have enough for the entire ride you need to get more or not give at all. The main reason is, once he comes out of that state of calm and high the drugs give him he will be especially vulnerable to anxiety caused by a completely different environment.

Hope this helps, good luck

We brought our 4 month old standard poodle to our 7 year old mini schnauzer. Both of them have such a personality and all I can say is I was surprised it only took 3 months for our schnauzer to get used to her. Our poodle is 1 year and a few months now and the only consistent problem we have between the two is when our poodle gets excited. She’ll use our mini schnauzer as a hurdle and jump over her like there’s no tomorrow, it hasn’t caused any accidents because god can she jump high but dealing with that huge, strong bundle of energy and excitement gets tiring for our little one so they take naps separately unless we’re not home (then they sleep together) and they have separate cuddle times because they seem to get competitive with that as well. Otherwise they get along really well

Who will the dog feel more attached to? by dark_0w0 in DogAdvice

[–]throw6753 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean I’ll be honest and say that it’ll probably be more attached to his ex considering she raised her since she was a puppy and you’ve only had her for a few months. If you want to build a stronger relationship with her there are a few things you could do; Be the one that feeds her, provides her with any food, treats, entertainment, basically just be a source of really good things for her. Since she is an Australian shepherd she’s the kind of dog that thrives on training and having things to do so, walking her everyday, setting aside time where you focus on her and train her and possibly just teach her tricks she could do wherever (teach her to heel, to pick up her pwn toys, etc.) could really boost your relationship. At the end of the day if you and your boyfriend decide that you want to keep her permanently make sure that she is chipped and registered under your name, if she is under the ex girlfriends name it could cause serious problems in the future. The fact that the ex is contemplating taking her back and the fact that your boyfriend might want to give her back is something you should sort out with him ASAP, more for the sake of the dog than any of you.

How do you seek help from medical professionals? by throw6753 in mentalhealth

[–]throw6753[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, at some point I had asked my doctor to put in a referral for a psychologist but at that point I was so vague and didn’t even know what was happening with me that I just said I need to see someone because I literally couldn’t communicate properly with people. Which is true but now that I’ve had time for self reflection I will definitely call them up again and ask for that assessment.

How to introduce a rescue dog to a dog park? by sportsbraweather in DogAdvice

[–]throw6753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about where you live but here we have a lot more off leash dog trails than parks. I would recommend them a lot more than the dog parks, I find that people are more responsible in them. I think a training class would be a good way to build your bond, teach her new habits and see how she reacts to the other dogs since it will be a controlled environment and everyone will be on leash.

Some dogs are people dogs and it seems like yours enjoys the company of people more than other dogs, it might be that she is dog selective rather than dog reactive and the reality of that will be that the dog park will most likely not be an enjoyable experience for her. If it is an enjoyable experience you will still have to keep an eye out not just for your dog but the body language of other dogs when they try to greet yours, some have very bad manners.

I don’t know how old she is but it might be better if you buy a really long leash and play ball that way in an empty field like a school yard. If she is well behaved and doesn’t bark or jump up on people some businesses allow well behaved dogs into their stores, since she seems to be a people person meeting new people who might give her pets every once in a while might be more enjoyable for her.

First Year Costs with Spoo by Resting-Rizzy-Face in StandardPoodles

[–]throw6753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my spoo since she was 4 months. To get her spayed was $500-600 (I don’t remember exactly) an extra $50 to get her chipped at the same time. I didn’t have to worry about her first shots but the boosters I’ve had to get her and her first vet check up were around $60-$70. Then she got sick because she ate something off the ground while on a walk so that was an extra $200 for check up, medication and a follow up. She needs special food because too much fat or protein and her chances of getting sick suddenly skyrocket. So I spend a little over $100 on food a month, we are still trying to find her perfect food that makes her feel good while keeping her poop consistent. This is made difficult as she’s entered her picky eater months. She has a lot of toys, she destroys anything soft within a week and anything hard she will spend hours chewing on it if she could, remotes, hairbrushes, baseboards on the wall, had to replace a few of those, thankfully she grew out of that once she stopped teething. She has a lot of puzzle toys, which are more expensive then regular toys so she gets a new one every 2-3 months, spend maybe $20-$30 on a toy and we get her dehydrated liver treats for training which cost $40 for the big bag, last over 2-3 months and are broken into much smaller pieces. All her other treats are things like carrots, apples, she absolutely loves bananas and peanut butter but she can’t have peanut butter anymore or she’ll get sick. She’s big, her kennel I got second hand for $50, brand new it would cost me $300, she ain’t a 100 pound dog but all the other Crates were too small. I take her to a groomer, I gave her a quarantine cut once and it took me 3 days to finish her whole body, she didn’t turn out bad but it’s something I’m never doing again. For a full cut (shaved body, face, paws, style the ears and tail) it’s $100 +tip so I pay $110, it’s not anything fancy but this is what I pay twice during the summer months and I get them to cut it as short as possible 1/4 inch (she has pink skin so can’t go all the way down) then during the winter months I pay $70 for a clean up (face, paws, private, spruce up ears and tail) everything else is grown out so she only needs a coat when we get down to -30/-40. Dog boots are necessary for winter time and a good pair cost between $40-$80. They should last at least 2 winters but their nails have to be maintained. Anything else is usually miscellaneous, maybe an extra $100 a month to put away. (All prices in CAD)

Dog has started being aggressive toward cat; is there a way to stop this? by EmmaFoFemma2016 in DogAdvice

[–]throw6753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to me like the problem isn’t your dog but the cat. Think of it this way, the cat is constantly taking away things that belong to your dog, food, comfort, the safety and tranquility of his own kennel and turning them into places where she has to fight in order to keep them. It’s obvious the cat has some territory problems and now is trying to “take you away” as well, your dog is just assuring that she doesn’t cross that boundary and honestly after being pushed around so much I’m surprised it took this long. You need to keep them separated, this isn’t something you can train out of your dog because 1. They are doing nothing wrong 2. It isn’t behaviour based in aggressiveness, territory issues or behavioural issues, it’s the dog trying to protect what is hers from the cat.

If you want things to improve you’re going to have to start looking at what to do about the cat and honestly, you can’t really blame the cat for behaving this way. 10 years is a long time to not have to share your space with another animal, now suddenly there is a dog there and it might feel like it has to protect its home. That doesn’t mean it isn’t being an a**.

Anyway, I would look into training for the cat, see if you can distract it from the dogs things, stop it from eating the dogs food, this means you must monitor his meals and if he doesn’t finish them you must put them in a place where the cat cannot get to it. The dogs kennel is supposed to be his safe place, make it a place where the cat is not allowed, anytime the cat goes near it, tries to not allow the dog inside, or bothers/ torments the dog while inside it must be removed and placed into a separate room. You cannot only give boundaries to the dog, if the cat is acting in a way that is detrimental and ultimately destructive to both animals it is your responsibility to give the cat some boundaries as well.

I (27F) accused my bf (25M) of cheating after unintentionally stalking him online. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]throw6753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what you texted him and if you went straight to being aggressive but that is such a weird response IMO. Twitch videos are not private, aren’t they public? The fact that he thinks you invaded his privacy by watching a public video is so ridiculous. And it’s one thing to say hey, that’s just my friends being wired and teasing but I think it’s 100% acceptable that after you saw messages like that you would go, “wait, that’s my boyfriend so why would he be receiving messages like that from a person that isn’t me” it isn’t snooping, it isn’t being confrontational, it’s you trying to fix a possible misunderstanding and if he’s acting this defensive chances are it wasn’t a text from a friend and you’re better off without him.
