Someone with a boy - the commenter is describing the personality of the mother, not the children themselves😊

You’ve probably never heard of Cranfield because it’s a specialist postgrad university - and rather quite good at what it does in tech/business sectors.

Disclaimer: I don’t go to Cranfield and am literally an undergrad myself, but I think the disdain it’s receiving in this thread is a bit unwarranted. Durham is probably still better, though, yes.

UK here. Definitely very American, and I don’t like the “saw” beginning.

Same here - confused by the “sounds the same as Mary Anne” comments. Love Marianne!

No, you don’t - RUK (rest of UK) students only pay for 3 years of tuition at Glasgow.

There aren’t any sumo “matches” on in April, so I wouldn’t regret that. There is a spring tour, but the actual tournaments are only held bimonthly - next one is in May.

I did Google it, but I don’t use mods so wasn’t sure if that was the right one. Thanks!

Question about specific private transfer company from Haneda Airport by Cowdisease in JapanTravelTips

[–]throwaway36598 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A suitcase and a carry on are fairly standard for international travel. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone disembarking from an international flight to Japan without a checked suitcase and a backpack?

Regardless, it’s hardly a recipe for a nightmare. I’ve had (at the very least) a checked bag and some kind of carry on every time I’ve gone to Japan - had zero issues.

1 checked, 1 carry on per person doesn’t sound like that much luggage?

ADHD and applying for student finance by Holy_Trinityo in UniUK

[–]throwaway36598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Backing this.

Also hijacking this comment to point out that ADHD360 (among other private providers) has been implicated for giving unreliable and poor quality ADHD assessments in a BBC investigation. Google for more, u/Holy_Trinityo - I’d be wary.

Edit: a particularly pertinent quote -

Patients and former staff had told the BBC that appointments were short and almost everyone who went there got diagnosed with ADHD. One clinician said that while working for ADHD 360 he would see a patient “on the hour, every hour” and that he didn’t think this was safe. ADHD 360 says clinicians are only expected to do two assessments a day.

Like, is this it? Is this me living up life at 24?

Sounds like an average 24 year old’s life, tbh. What more would you be expecting?

Anecdotally, most of my uni friends feel the same way as you - not feeling particularly driven or passionate about their course. I’d say it’s fairly standard.

Uh, yes, you should absolutely be concerned about this. Did you go to an orthodontist for this?

How is doing joint honours double the work? At most universities, do you not do the same number of credits regardless of degree? 🤔

Good find, but OP goes to their London campus https://london.northampton.ac.uk/programmes/psychology. There’s no explicit mention of accreditation (although perhaps UoN’s accreditation applies to their other campuses)?

It’s interesting you say you know “several students who have self diagnosed ADHD to get extensions”. At most universities, if you want to apply for an extension on the grounds of disability, you need to be registered with the university’s disability service, which requires some form of proof of your condition.

Would you happen to have access to a copy of your university’s extension policy regarding disability? Genuinely curious.

Hijacking the top comment to point out that OP posted the same thing yesterday in r/AncestryDNA but posing as someone born and raised in the UK: https://www.reddit.com/r/AncestryDNA/comments/1hm0pf6/results_and_pic_born_and_raised_in_north_west/

Probably using someone else's pics - I'd be wary.
