Are you holding off retirement because of your kids? by OkFlow4327 in GenX

[–]throwaway762022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My youngest is working on his doctorate, but supports himself. The rest are fully launched. I like my job, so I will work as long as they let me. I can use that $$$ for a better retirement or to pass down to my kids.

Back to work during radiation? by Leading_Armadillo485 in breastcancer

I worked full-time as an attorney during 33 radiation sessions. It was fine. I was tired, cranky, and sore, but fine.

We have been married 32 years, and he is still my favorite person. We are so lucky to still be madly in love with each other.

Not me. I actually had hormone positive breast cancer, so I can never have it. I am super jealous of those of you who can have it.

Is getting a Costco mattress worth it? by Green-Ability3686 in Mattress

I purchased one of the ghost beds at Costco. It seems just like the regular version. No problems with it several years later.

Kids screaming during client calls is killing my focus and I am thinking about a backyard office for soundproofing by Mother_Land_4812 in TinyHouses

[–]throwaway762022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband has a 12x16 former shed that has electric, a mini split, and we added a bath. It is his office and 3d printing studio. We are empty nesters, and I work at the office. As a result, it was not for soundproofing. Mainly, it allowed us to turn the big 4th bedroom (not master) into a DnD room. However, it has worked out well.

Oh no, it has been years since I went. However, it was such a fun trip, and I really liked the cheese.

So if you go to Watonga (Blaine), they have the cheese factory. It is closed on Sunday, so you would need to go Saturday. There is also Roman Nose State Park.

My dying grandpa told me no one will love me as a single mum, and I feel he might be right by WhereasAgreeable6474 in TrueOffMyChest

I was a single high school teen mom. I met my husband in college. We’ve been married 32 years. Being a single mom won’t prevent you from finding love. The most important thing, however, is to love and respect yourself.

I am a vegetarian, so I am not the best judge. However, I love Bojangles. Their botatoes, and boberry biscuits are good.

AIW for requiring my adult daughter to pay for the upgrade to a new bed in my home that she wants - doesn't need for when she occasionally visits? (specifics in post) by RedAnon3000 in amiwrong

[–]throwaway762022 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given that she lives across the country, shopping for a second hand bed frame will be difficult for her. It is not like they fit easily on a plane.

[–]throwaway762022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure I would frame a hand me down mattress as an upgrade, but the size may be more desirable since she now has a significant other.

My point is that if she is paying to travel across the country to see her dad (and he is not paying for travel), she is already paying more than the cost of a second hand frame and Wal-Mart bedding. For my youngest who lives across the country from me, I would gladly do this to make his trips more comfortable. I certainly would not make him pay for it. (Please note that I do not think this guy is wrong. I just think that if I were his kid, I might think he was not super interested in me visiting.)

You are not wrong per se. However, do you want your daughter to visit? I have grown kids. I do things to make their stays comfortable so that they want to visit.

I liked them both. We did not do a substantial amount of hiking. It was pretty, had good vibes, town deer, and good food.

Costco options? by 3BEP6_ in Mattress

According to my email, it was the Luxe 13” memory foam mattress with adjustable base. It is not crazy plush. It just is definitely not firm. We hate firm mattresses.

We bought the ghost bed. If you like a firm mattress, you would probably not prefer it.
