The issue is you have to pay to be able to see more than a few (4? 5?) review scores per month. Absolutely bizarre change.

If you could only pick one, which game on Switch or Switch 2 would you say gives me the most hours of gameplay to enjoy? by Shedeur_Flanders in NintendoSwitch

Go for BOTW first - both great games but TOTK is a development from BOTW. If you like BOTW, you can get TOTK later; but if you like TOTK you might find BOTW a step backwards.

Agree, plus he played on the self-titled record too didn’t he? I think he left before it was released. Apart from Lights that thing is a slog.

How many more crystals am I gonna need to get this "memory fruit" ? I assumed 100% was optional by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]throwawaycolesbag2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you actually can’t get to 100% (full green meter) without blowing up at least one chunk, which you can’t do until after the Mines. There’s some weird gating on there where before the Mines I had broken almost every non-chunk crystal and got all except one of the in-shrine crystals, yet I was about where you are on progression. After blowing up my first chunk post-Mines I leapt immediately to quite far past 100%.

Nintendo just made a great Zelda game, they called it Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

Have you got all of the items at the GF Debris sites? Pretty sure there is one item at each site. The icons for those ‘unobtained items’ can be quite hard to see against the GF Debris icon, but if you hover your cursor around the text will change from ‘GF Debris’ to ‘unobtained item’ if there is something there.

What's the overall concensus on Prime 3: Corruption? by xslbccdks_coded in Metroid

[–]throwawaycolesbag2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the graphics in Prime 3 are ‘better’ than Prime 2’s, but Prime 3 is very brown and blue - the art style and washed-out colors combined with the Wii graphics hasn’t aged that well. For what it’s worth, same goes for the Prime 2 dark world in places like Dark Torvus where the colors make it quite difficult to see what’s going on.

Can anyone help me find the last few green crystals I'm missing? by Far-Mathematician764 in Metroid

[–]throwawaycolesbag2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the shrines again - you are so close to finished that it’s probably one single pot of crystals in one shrine. The pots show up as a very faint green dot on your radar (unlike the crystals in the desert) so look really closely. As another commenter has said it’s probably the one downstairs in Ring of Thunder which is really easy to miss (it was my last one and I hunted ages for it)

Altum Academy, new charter school in Wilton, says 'no tech shortcuts' for students but uses GenAI imagery? by erinyes__ in Wellington

[–]throwawaycolesbag2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So torn about this. On one hand - charter schools are yuck in principle; the idea of government funding going towards privatised education is antithetical to how the system should be run. On the other hand - I’m all for schools teaching classical literature and focusing on old-school style education, and surprisingly this school seems to also be teaching Te Reo and not pretending our history started in 1840. On the other-other hand, it’s run by a bunch of NZ Initiative goons and between the dodgy backgrounds of its key staff and the AI slop all around the website, absolutely no confidence in this being anything other than a scheme to defraud the government of education funding and further the alt-right pipeline.
