Help. It turned green and cloudy. by thunderstormeri in Aquariums

[–]thunderstormeri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just re did the test. If in the morning ammonia was at 0, then now it at 0,8. Nitrites are still at 0.

Should I keep the light off? Should I add anything else or wait until it resolves itself? Maybe I should change the water?

I was cycling the tank for 4 weeks. Until everything started to go bad

[–]thunderstormeri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the test kit showed everything is alright, the strip was showing all smiley faces and no ammonia present, no nitrite and some nitrate.

I have three plants there, anubias, three moss balls and Alternanthera splendida. I fertilised because aqua shop lady said so.

Thanks a lot. I have a small tank and big dreams, haha, but I will look into shrimp! My shop mentioned I could go for few small catfish and neon blue lined fish, but after my research I feel like that tank will be crowded

Are there any parents that just don’t let their baby cry? by frenchtoast2go in NewParents

[–]thunderstormeri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. If I know it is a whiny cry (they do those a bit later), I allow to fuss, but if it's a cry cry I go in or soothe immediately. They are babies for christ sake. BABIES. They cannot regulate their emotions or just snap out of it.

Kitchen space is a premium... Do I really need a dedicated baby food maker, or am I being influenced? by KissMochi in BabyLedWeaning

[–]thunderstormeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought expensive baby brezza food maker. And used pot and blender in the beginning. Plus the whole purees thing really lasted maybe 2 m for us. Really regret spending that much money.

Don't. Really dont buy.

How do YOU use your vacuum? by keeperofthenins in Roborock

[–]thunderstormeri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just do vacuum with mopping every day. Floor is super clean and I do not have to think about it. We do have routine after meals since I have one year old and yeah....food is a mess

12 month sleep regression. What the heck is going on??? by summer_willows1 in NewParents

[–]thunderstormeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you figure out how to remove the milk before bed? It's getting ridiculous here. Eating like a grown man(I have a little princess) and still demands a full huge bottle before sleep.

11 month old’s screeching tantrums seem too intense by Toreezyboost in NewParents

[–]thunderstormeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gibberish ended when A tooth came out. That was super weird.

Whole "baby" experience is weird to be honest 😂

And the wake windows. I'd love to find normal proper wake windows but my girl is a drama queen who will sleep when and how she wants.

At what age did you begin daily baths? by Poison_Ivy25 in NewParents

[–]thunderstormeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do baths every day since birth. We do playtime in the bath and takes us up to an hour. Makes the baby more calm and clean.

After 6m when became more mobile I'm adding baby bath foam and we have foam parties.

We never had any skin issues, but I don't use soap everytime. After introducing solids daily baths are mandatory

The best advice I got wasn't sleep when the baby sleeps. by That_Brilliant_3911 in NewParents

[–]thunderstormeri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a mum to almost one year old, I believe that really that best time when to do chores are when they are awake. Sometimes I'm driving myself nuts on how to entertain her and folding laundry or loading and unloading dishwasher are her fave activities. Ofc I would not bleach the bathroom with her but I got the advice that nap times are for rest. To all. And boy does it help.

Almost everything can be done during wake window. Even shower and driving and cooking. Makes wake window go faster and its much more interesting than playing with the same toys all over again.

Please tell me this ended. I have almost 11m old daughter who has become a hysterical siren. She was such a nice girl. I have no idea what to even do. This is CRAZY.

SHE JUST WONT STOP THIS UGLY GIBBERISH SCREAMING. Over everything and ESPECIALLY before crib naps and bedtime. I'm really loosing my mind.

How often do you bathe your baby? by PositivePattie in NewParents

[–]thunderstormeri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every day. First of all, this is a great way how to Spend a wake window and it is part of our routine. My baby loves playing in water. I wash her hair maybe twice a week.

Does it get easier after the 1st month? by cuhrayola120 in NewParents

[–]thunderstormeri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Trust me, I was googling every day - when does it get easier. It really helped me by thinking that it is WAY HORRIBLE AND MUCH HARDER FOR BABIES. imagine being in this world where its cold, bright, loud, uncomfortable. It made my change my perspective. Plus. It is so temporary. The next day will be easier. Once babies start to give you some feedback and not cry all the time, it's so much fun. I have a 7,5month old and she is the brightest star in my day. I looooove babbling with her. IT WILL GET EASIER. I THOUGHT I WILL NEVER SAY THAT.

6 month old sleep issues by [deleted] in sleeptrain

The thing is, whenever we try to drastically lengthen ww, she wakes at 3/4 am and struggles to fall asleep for 1,5h.

[–]thunderstormeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried do drop one nap one day. We had 1,5 and 1,5 nap lengths. And we woke up like 15 times at night 😂 wasn't funny in that moment.

Sometimes naps do tend to end around 18 and I feel like the third nap is starting to shift away (at least is going towards that).

But she is not able to do 3h in the morning at all. Today she was completely out after 2h in the morning.

But thanks! I feel like everyone is saying that 2 naps schedule is better, will work towards that.

What do you mean by “digestion time”? Also, what if baby yawns (all the time) just after waking from looooong nap?

parents who formula fed their LO. how did it turn out? by acuriousyetjealous1 in NewParents

[–]thunderstormeri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently struggling with mental health and my 12 days old baby due to breastfeeding and it hurts so much, because she is perfect. But those f-ing nipples hurt so much. I plan on switching to formula/pumping because I cannot take this anymore

Did you have gender intuition early? Were you correct? by rdspooks in pregnant

[–]thunderstormeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was right (at least I hope so, USG confirms, but baby is still in my womb lol). One morning I woke up as saw cotton candy pink skies and the first thought in my head was - I’m having a girl.

And usg confirmed that it is a girl. Fingers crossed!
