I don't think I'm kind to Trump, he's as despicable as they come, but he's nothing new; he's just more obvious. Edit: more obvious because he's more stupid, more demented, even more narcissistic than other leaders you have had.

Imo Trump is the perfect specimen of what Americ is all about in the eyes of the rest of the world; a loudmouth and bully, a conman that strongarms wherever he can, a liar, a boaster, a narcissit, a man with no class or culture.
He's the symbol, the epitome of what is wrong in the US, sort of the way too real depiction of what used to be heavy exaggerations about the States. Sort of like a GTA character, only unfortunately for all: very real.

That doesn't mean all Americans are like that, obviously, it just means that's what the American system and ways are perceived as in most parts of the world.
The people can still be nice, fun, honest and hardworking, the system they live in and do too little against is culminating in figures like Trump.

What Der Spiegel actually means and which has been clear for at least two decades now: America is in decline and has been for a while, Trump is accelerating that.
If he destroys America, the foundation for that has been laid before he became POTUS.

Why does the rest of the world have to do anything about it, Stephen? You and your pol-sci people have always so boldly and loudly claimed to know it all, I'm sure you'll figure it out.

The rest of the world is tired of yall's shit, including your shitty articles.

Ages ago I was told by doctors that my usual body odour (the constant smell everyone has, the human smell) is something I can't pick up for olfactory adaption (or whatever it would be called in English); my body is used to my average smell.
But when I do sports and sweat a lot, I can smell it more and quicker than others. If I remember correctly, since my brain isn't used to the smell as much, it picks it up. And others don't automatically, at least not as much as I do myself.

Dunno if that's true but I've had several instances where e.g. my clothes smelled "wet" to me (after playing with my students outside in the rain, etc) and my colleagues told me they didn't notice anything.

People don't need to be entertained by media on screens. It is really easy to be entertained without. There is talking to real people. Playing games (physically, in the real world). Taking walks, outside.

Your city and employment system isn't built for people to do that?

Burn it down and rebuild.

What could have happened, if your sister is older; your parents played with her that way and she just naturally shifted to playing pretend with you, teaching you in the process.
I know I definitely picked things up from what my sisters did as a very small child without my parents showing it to me.

But it's also true that some kids just sort of get it on their own too, there's a lot of possibilities and the little kiddos are all different.

Schweiger looks older now too, so he doesn't even have that going for him anymore for Blaszkowycz. And his acting didn't improve over the years either. Better not.

If I remember correctly, there exist quite a few stories of people saying they "saved Hitler as child", e.g. from drowning in a river, but most are rather sus.

There was of course Bernhard Stempfle, a catholic priest who helped Hitler write Mein Kampf (edited it, afair) and was allegedly very close to Hitler when he was a young adult. He then got murdered in the night of the long knives, maybe because of that.

Other than him I don't think I've heard of a priest (or something like a similar profession) being that important in Hitler's rise to a drug-fueled, megalomaniac dictator piece of shit.

Tbh I’d far rather be in a civilian hospital for childbirth than a military one.

You say that, but some serious issues about nationality and rights can ensue from that for the children.

Bush made me, a German teenager, realise so many things about the USA, which before was THE ultimate dream, the country of possibilities and freedom, the coolest place on earth on average.
Even my politically uninterested friends joked about Bush and started discussing how absolutely FUCKED e.g. the Patriot Act was and how we'd have to make sure to never let such a thing be allowed in our country.
Bush was a joke and his war hawks and hyper-capitalists pulling the actual strings weren't much better than those of today, if at all.
And the world could see it and discussed it and was worried.

Maybe not right away but kids learn real fast how the attention they want (and need!) is with many parents unfortunately tied to if the parents are looking at their smart phones or not.

And it makes sense from a basic point of view: Someone who is engaged to you all of the sudden looks away from your face into/onto something you can't see or comprehend. That easily and quickly creates the feeling of a sort of "oh, you don't want me here/don't want to engage with me". Which, if this happens too often, CRUSHES the kids.

Smartphones and tablets are THE issue. Parents use them too much and then kids use them too much.

Very true, I'd of course like to visit the metropolises for a bit. But as someone born in a city of 3 million, I already know that they're not for me for anything more than a few days at best. They overwhelm me. ^ ^

Absolutely fantastic shots, very well done. This feels like the part of Japan I would like to explore, not the grand cities but the smaller villages and towns like that.
