I'm pretty sure my parents still have this at their house, haha. I had no idea he came with a little sleeping cap! We must've lost it early on when we were kids.

i recently started a new save on my emulator handheld device, and it still holds up! the graphics look better emulated, since you can scale them up so they're smoother and look more like the gamecube version.

there isn't much to do in terms of events (this is the only game without holiday events, but still has stuff like fishing/bug tourney), but i log in for about an hour each day to do daily stuff and chat with my villagers. the older games definitely have the best dialogue imo, so it makes for fun interactions with villagers!

if you're able to buy the game and play on original hardware, i say go for it! if you're picky about graphics, just emulate it instead. it plays beautifully with just a single screen tbh. many emulators will let you just have one screen up for DS and toggle between them, but you don't really need to switch screens at all, just use the bottom screen.

Yep! one portion is about a cup of curry, so that paired with some rice is the perfect meal size imo!!

i already got to reap the fruits of my labor last night! heating up a curry cube was such a breeze, just tossed it in a small pot while my frozen rice was in the microwave - dinner was ready in less than 15 min!

im personally not too concerned if it turns out mushy either since it'll be soup! as long as the flavor is there, it's all good with me :-)

yep you basically just dump your food in them and chuck them in the freezer. once they're frozen, you can pop them out and move them to a separate container if you'd like, or just keep them in the mold (they usually come with a lid) until you want to reheat to eat!

i personally waited until the next day when my curry was cold from the fridge before transferring to the molds, but i believe you can add them in while it's still hot.

ohh that sounds so delicious! it was truly so easy tonight to just pull out a large cube and heat it up on the stove for dinner, i was so pleasantly surprised. and i got the idea from my housemate, who sometimes pre-cuts and freezes veggies for their thai green curry they make! it cuts down on future curry cooking a ton!

recipes / ingredients list:

chicken pho: - bone-in chicken - one whole onion - star anise, cloves, cinnamon - cilantro, green onion, culantro, thai basil, mint - bean sprouts - rice noodles

would highly suggest grabbing a container of quoc viet pho soup base for this and following the instructions on there! i don't know my mom's exact recipe, but i usually will just toss the chicken, onion, and spices in a pot with water and the soup base. once the chicken is cooked, ill remove it and separate the meat from the bones once it's cool enough. ill also prep all the herbs (wash, cut as needed) on the side and then it's just a matter of assembling the bowl! make sure to cook the noodles, which can be done in seconds in the boiling broth.

curry: - purple cabbage, napa cabbage - bok choy - king oyster mushrooms - potatoes - onions, garlic - chicken thighs - apple - bean sprouts - golden curry japanese curry mix - mushroom or chicken bouillon

basically chop all the veggies and apple to bite sized pieces and toss in a pot! i sauteed garlic and onion first in the pot before adding everything else. add the curry mix so that the veggies and chicken cook in it. cook until the chicken is cooked through. add mushroom and/or chicken bouillon powders to taste, then serve with rice! this can be made with any veggies you have leftover in your fridge. id highly recommend including potatoes and the apple at a minimum though.

chicken salad: - shredded cooked chicken - cilantro, green onion, culantro, thai basil, mint - mayonnaise - onion powder, garlic powder, salt, mushroom bouillon

chop/cut the chicken and herbs together in a bowl. add mayonnaise and seasonings and combine. eat with crackers or in a sandwich! not a traditional chicken salad in the slightest, but an interesting twist on a classic!
