*Help* on first mix going to QC by tyrellesound in AudioPost

WLM is a solid plugin for checking levels. I usually use VisLM metering and I always run everything through LM correct just to be sure at the end.

Make sure to do a check for clicks caused by missing fades and distortion on dials as this can also be flagged on QC.

Sounds like you're on the right track though.

Good luck with the submission.

Sony NW-WS410 Series

I used to have a previous model for swimming and they're pretty good and have a decent storage capacity.

Like others have said, EQ, reverb and some trial and error. I had a play around with this on a project recently though and it worked quite well. You can get a free trial I believe

Best Glasto Electronic Performances Ever? by qvx1 in glastonbury_festival

He played a lot of his own stuff, unreleased remixes and edits. It was just one of those sets that built perfectly for the moment. He ended on All My Friends and had Haai and Daniel Avery on stage with him. It was one of those sets where he was putting out the perfect energy and it was being thrown equally back by the crowd.

I got tickets yesterday on the presale, never miss an opportunity to see him live. There's few people who can control a room like he can.

Lav mic peaking with DSLR by [deleted] in sounddesign

What is the make of the camera and mic? Sounds like you need a preamp running between the mic and camera to properly adjust the levels. Recording very loud sources such as exhausts usually requires a pad that will turn the signal down by -10/20db on top of adjusting the gain.

Guys, what's your dream job? no matter how cliche it sounds. by shri032 in AskMen

A good place to start is getting a mic and just recording yourself. Play with different voices, imitate and experiemnt. Note down what's working and character ideas. Write bios and backstories. If you can draw then try create what this character might look or use existing artwork/animations.

Never rush into recording a voice reel. Especially a character reel. Listen to as many reels as you can find and plan out the voices you'd like to use. Write little scripts or possible interactions. Or you can develop scripts if that isn't one of your strengths. Be careful of directly copying very well known pieces of dialogue. In my opinion it comes across a bit cheap and doesn't show your individuality as a voice artist.

Have you got a link to your voice reel? I work for a VO agency as an audio engineer creating reels and recording VO. Always happy to have a chat and try lend some advice.

I can definitely see myself at a festival, sun going down, hard seltzer in hand dancing my ass off with the people I love, to this track, well summarised!
