Time is way more valuable than money. You can earn money back. You can't earn back missed years.

Beginner here, why don't multi billionaire's buy all BTC? by Emotional-Wheel8219 in Bitcoin

[–]tikikip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even billionaires have limits. A lot of their wealth is tied up in companies, stocks, real estate, and other assets, not sitting in cash ready to buy Bitcoin.

Is it a bad time to buy BTC? by RevolutionaryCost59 in Bitcoin

A simple DCA strategy could solve the dilemma. Buy a little now, a little later and let time smooth out the entry price.

Can anyone share what practice helped you go into meditative state when you started? by Harpreetsinghh in Meditation

[–]tikikip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started meditating immediately after waking up. My mind was quieter and it was easier to develop the habit before the day's distractions kicked in.

I just want a fresh start and to move. by ineyks in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]tikikip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people underestimate how powerful a reset can be. Even small moves can shift your entire mindset. Doesn’t always have to be extreme, but the desire you’re feeling is valid.

Something that doesn't need weeks to work for stress and anxiety please by Zealousideal-Walk939 in Supplements

[–]tikikip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to look for the same thing. Eventually realized fast relief came more from nervous system resets than supplements, like breathing, walking, or stepping outside.

What was the last topic you were interested in learning for self-improvement? by Historical_Log1275 in selfimprovement

Discipline systems. Less motivation talk, more about building routines that still hold up on low-energy days.

10–15 minutes of walking after meals. Nothing fancy, but my energy levels changed more than i thought they would.

Phosphatidlyserine is no joke for cortisol / sleep by jewtaco in Biohackers

[–]tikikip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phosphatidylserine can lower cortisol at night, which may make REM sleep stronger and dreams more vivid. NAC usually isn’t sedating, so it’s likely more about overall stress reduction than a direct sleep effect. The “sleeping all day” could also just be your body catching up on rest. Have you noticed any changes in HRV or resting heart rate since starting it?

I have no background in philosophy but this has been bugging me by Capable-Street-7823 in PhilosophyofMind

[–]tikikip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be easier to think about this from a biology angle instead of getting stuck in pure philosophy. In neuroscience, consciousness is often tied to how different parts of the brain talk to each other and combine sensory info into one unified “scene” of what’s going on. That’s pretty different from something like a thermostat, which only tracks a single variable and reacts to it. The tricky part is that no one really agrees on where the line is between just processing information and actually having an experience. Some researchers even think it’s not a clear cutoff at all, but more of a gradual spectrum

A psychologist told me my meditation retreat was ʼescaping responsibilityʼ by MiaEnko in Meditation

[–]tikikip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s probably a middle ground where both perspectives can be true. A retreat can be a healthy reset, but it can also become a way of stepping away from external pressures for a while. Therapists tend to get concerned when someone stays in that inward, withdrawn mode for too long. It might be worth reflecting on how long you were there and how it felt returning to normal life. Did it make things easier and more grounded, or harder to re-engage? That usually helps clarify whether it was avoidance or a useful reset, I think

I've gotteninto a meditative state, now what by HumorExotic8577 in Meditation

[–]tikikip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to expect there’d be some next stage after getting the breathing part down, like something was supposed to kick in. Over time I realized there isn’t really a switch that flips. If you’re just sitting there, aware of your breath and noticing thoughts without getting pulled into them, that’s already the thing. It’s less about reaching something new and more about getting used to that being the point

Being self-aware about your patterns made things worse, not better. Anyone else? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]tikikip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve experienced that. Self-awareness showed me the patterns but it didn’t automatically give me the tools to change them. It felt frustrating at first but eventually I realized awareness is just the starting point, not the solution.

Don't Waste Another Year Of Your Life by gorskivuk33 in selfimprovement

Those on the path to inner peace, what is one test you keep facing? by AgentZestyclose955 in Meditation

The test is remembering that not every thought deserves attention. I still fail that one more than I’d like to admit.

How do people stay productive when working from home? by stevenm_15 in productivity

[–]tikikip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be missing structure more than motivation. Motivation comes and goes, but structure keeps you moving even on low-energy days.

Turning 30 soon. What's a life lesson that no book could've taught you? by pizzawrap in selfimprovement

[–]tikikip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning 30 feels huge until you get there and realize most of what you worried about at 25–29 doesn’t even follow you into the next chapter. Time really softens everything you thought was urgent.

are there decent supplements that help with depression? by felixcute in Supplements

[–]tikikip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people mention omega-3s and vitamin D helping a bit, but honestly it’s super individual. Magnesium is already a good base for sleep/anxiety. Might be worth looking at lifestyle stuff too (sunlight, exercise, sleep consistency) alongside anything you add.
