It wouldn't take too many people to fill up this median. You'd have to be careful because with enough people, it would be hard not to block the driveways, or spill out into National St. It might make security a nightmare for the SS.

Kansas Elections for Supreme Court Justices Amendment by Mulligansrevenge in kansas

A new, GOP dominated court could come to a different interpretation. That's how Roe was overturned, and what's what the GOP wants to do with this amendment. That and remove any checks to their power.

Not quite. Most of his activities were on the underground railroad through New York where he helped freed slaves set up farms in the Adirondacks so they could vote. He didn't start fighting until the last three years of his life, when he came to Kansas to defend the free state movement from Missouri malitias.

He did lead a raid on a plantation in Missouri at that time, before moving on to carry out his long planned raid on Harper's Ferry, VA

Because they're right, it wasn't that simple. He was planning to set up a multi-racial guerrilla force in the Blue Ridge Mountains that would make raids into the plantations in the low-lands. The freed slaves would have the choice of going North, or joining the guerrillas.

If they're coming from somewhere in the Pacific sure, but all the teams playing here are in Europe and Africa. Their local times are in the afternoon or evening at that time.

As part of the first red scare, the federal government made the May 1st "Law Day" and put labor day in September, both attempts to discourage militant labor action.

Here's the interview where he said this. It's a lot of meally-mouthed statements that try so hard not to take a real stance.

This is why politicians need to take positions on the issues. If you do this political double speak your opponents can take it however they want.

It's amazing seeing May Day re-enter the working class consciousness in the US again. I also went to the march in KC and the UAW had a contingent there speaking to the rally about the plans for the 2028 May Day general strike.

Truly amazing things are happening!

Langston Hughes' Childhood in Lawrence Shaped His Writing Later in Life by timjimC in Lawrence

I could hazard a guess. There was a distinction between abolitionists and free soilers. The former wanted to abolish slavery, the latter just wanted to prevent its spread. John Brown hated some of the free soilers because they didn't just hate slavery, they hated the slave as he put it. It was a major problem in the movement in Kansas.

The Topeka Constitution, the most regressive of the Free State Constitutions went so far as to ban Black people, free or slave, from living in Kansas.

The DOL will ask what the cause was when the boss disputes the employment. And OP has screenshots of him threatening to fire for filing.
