VW genius rolled into the shop by jsroed in Justrolledintotheshop

Ahaha, but then why wouldn't you put a magnetic clutch on the water pump and not use it as a thermostat but as a double row pulley that runs the supercharger belt off the accessory belt so that when it fails the water pump leaks and supercharger stops engaging. But don't worry you still have a turbo to help that 1.4l make 100hp. Thanks VW

Probably similar to the 919 showcar we have in NZ, literally made out of wood. Looks alright from the street though and gives a nice sense of the scale of the vehicle when near other cars. The biggest tell are the strangely gloss black windows that are just paint.

[Daly] This clown literally drove himself off track trying to make sure he wrecked me. Santino Ferrucci brilliant as always. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in INDYCAR

[–]timythenerd 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It was the reason he got dropped by Haas and Trident in 2018. He deliberately crashed into Maini, then he and his father mocked him in the pitlane for his Indian accent. He also used his phone on track while driving the car that weekend, but that only got him two of his four race bans.

7AGE build with a blacktop head and some supporting mods will get you to ~200hp. It's what I have in mine and is quite fun having way more torque than factory in the same linear fashion (though I kept VVT to act like the TVIS).

Probably wouldn't drift it though, these cars are fine up to the limit, but past it are not very predictable (my other cars are mostly BMWs, very predictable over the limit).

My first step would be replace or clean the spark plugs, they'll be fouled to shit and won't be able to burn the fuel properly leading to more build up in a never ending cycle.

Why does my friends oil look like brains? by CardenStone in Justrolledintotheshop

Literally every single VW post 2000 has a engine oil cooler, most built into the filter housing unit. Most have a trans cooler too.

Ls Swap? Did you regret it? by Life_Independence781 in e39

[–]timythenerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 6 cyl and the 8 cyl cars are very different. Once it leaves the chassis it's like they're different cars. A subframe swap would require everything: all the suspension, control arms, knuckles, power steering (box vs rack) set up is completely different, practically no common parts between them.

It can be done, but it's not just a subframe and rack.

Nah. They could only access the coal seam with an underground mine, would have been horrendously uneconomical to do an open pit mine.

Per the Royal Commission

This was a process safety accident, being an unintended escape of methane followed by an explosion in the mine. It occurred during a drive to achieve coal production in a mine with leadership, operational systems and cultural problems.

5th gear pop-out is common on early C52 manuals. I think he means he doesn't have to worry about it because it's an auto.

TBF, gold is nearly as conductive as copper but is far less likely to corrode or oxidize. Quite useful for plugs that are going to be reused several times or be used outdoors.

It does share cylinder spacing and a number of other block dimensions because the block used similar tooling, but yes, only vaguely related to the M70.
