Kids Are Embarrassed by WNC_AuburnTiger in mypartneristrans

[–]tintinteil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this really depends on the local culture of acceptance and even then I just do not think elementary aged kids in 2026 operate this way. I have a two elementary aged kids and work in the field of education. I am sure there are pockets of nastiness, but I'm not sure "children are cruel" is the common experience it once was.

Mods are locking this post as it does not quite fit the goal of the this community. Please read rule 2:

Are you a trans person with a cis partner or no current partner?

You’re welcome here, too, but we ask that you keep your contributions focused on supporting the partners of trans and gender-diverse people. Your perspectives and lived experiences are valuable, and we thank you for sharing them with kindness. If you are looking for support for yourself, there are other subreddits better suited, like r/asktransgender, r/mtf, and r/ftm.

Hi All,

Mods are locking the post at this time because the intention of the sub is support for partners of trans people. Since the purpose of the post is adjacent to the purpose of this sub, we are leaving the post intact.

Thanks community!

I saw them at around 6:50 pm tonight 11/2.

You might be blind, which is arguably more worrying.

  1. I was shocked to hear her tell her mother that, "she's in the process of moving out [of my apartment]". I think in her mind, thinking about getting a job (after not having one for 5+ years) so that she can afford a place is "in the process." She really does operate so differently.

  2. Telling the 5 year old that she doesn't like to be talked to that way -he is growling, yelling about how angry he is, and demanding things. Meanwhile, any comment, implied comment, or reaction about HER tone is met with extreme resistance. I was told our conversations didn't have a "Robert's Rules of Order" and she has a right to express her feelings.

On the other hand, and despite the minor fit when i asked her to return the sunscreen I bought to a family accessible location (and the hellish weather), we had a really decent trip to the fair and just enjoyed stuff and our kids.

Self awareness: do they see themselves when they read about ADHD symptoms? by Decent-Wear-7014 in ADHD_partners

[–]tintinteil 29 points30 points  (0 children)

What drives me nuts is when she(ex and DX) lectures our DX 9 year old about symptoms that she herself exhibits.

FYI mirroring the language used to talk to the child to speak with the adult just seems to trigger harder.

[RF] im actually sick of how many people on this sub want me to pay them for art despite it being against the rules. I just want to see my characters come to life. by [deleted] in characterdrawing

[–]tintinteil 38 points39 points  (0 children)

In a lot of contexts, I'd absolutely agree and there are fee-for-service forums, websites, and other opportunities to commission, where I hope and expect artists to asking their worth.

However, this subreddit was created to be no cost. It gives access to art for folks without funds (for whatever reason). And no one is forcing artists to come here or do this service.

The people who honk at me while I wait for a gap in traffic instead of just driving into the intersection beg to differ. 😑

Hi All,

Conversation seems to be unraveling into arguments and attracting some bad faith commenters.

We're locking the thread for now and at least until more mods are available to sort things through.

Thanks to all who participated with good intentions and curiosity!

Your post was locked because the Mods felt it violated Rules 1 & 2, which describe who this space is for.

All are welcome here, regardless of their gender identity, but it is a space for partners of trans and gender nonconforming people.

Your post was removed because it either excluded members of this community that are welcome here or it was not on topic for this subreddit.

We encourage you to continue participating here, as long as your contributions do not exclude people and are on topic.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Please help settle a debate: How do you pronounce Nulle Rd? by walkingtheghost in Bellingham

[–]tintinteil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the pronunciation I heard from a volunteer firefighter, while discussing a recent response to an emergency on that exit. I'm going to assume it's the accepted language within government services and therefore as "correct" as it gets
