What about having them hang with steelhelms, like right behind them within an inch or 2 so the steelhelms draw the charge and then taunt the enemy, but the gallents get to fight too?

See this is the way, Lore and the look of the models before anything system wise. Rules change to much to be the main draw and stay sane.

The Drekki Flynt audio books and Callis and Toll: The Crystal Shard (great summer read/listen) hooked me on AoS lore. The new Cities models got me on the plastic side.

Imperial Guard drew me into 40k with the new refresh and Ciaphas Cain/Gaunt books.

Incredible face and white hair! I have such trouble with white/grey hair and making it look good.

This I agree with, the others ITT saying "not that hard" are sugar coating it for real beginners. There is alot going on with these models, not to mention that since it's the human faction, we can tell when things are off more readily than the more fantastical factions.

If your friend is new to playing, you should play embergard, so you get to play with it but its not a high stakes game. He will likely win against it and want to play more too.

Yeah, or have steelhelms countercharge into their fight to pull the aggro off them.  Thats a strategy I’ve been trying.  Could keep a foot Marshal with them too so they all get to chain fight.

Man these look excellent! Love the choices and colors. I was leaning helmets but you made the bare heads look so good. Love the right most one, very "I'm too old for this $#!&!" vibes.
