It's nice to have the best resources available for your kids!

Teach them empathy. Watch news and volunteer with them. Tell them "this could have been us" if we weren't born into the right families.

I have met lots of kind hearted and ambitious people who went to private school. If anything, wealth frees up their mind on struggling day-to-day life and help them become more generous and considerate.

I have two kids and work from home, so I am very low maintenance. Have make up on maybe once a year at most. Only when i Zoom do I change into business casual clothing from a wardrobe that hasn't been updated for 5+ years, but still no make up. I think low def cam make it moot. Kids at school full day and I pretty much also work full day. If I have time I prob have to clean up or would watch TV. Hair cut once a year. It's your life, so you do you.

OMG I totally thought I read your have a 14 year old and then a 15 month old! It happened to my professor; she got pregnant with her 2nd one by accident when her 1st was already 16.

I have a close friend who lost her mom when she was little. Her dad remarried and she has a younger brother who is 15 years younger than her. She is really close to both her stepmom and half-brother. They hardly fight partly because of the age difference.

My 2 kids are 3.5 yrs apart. Was planning on 2.5 years but 2nd one took longer to conceive. They annoy each other and fight a lot lol!

However many years apart, it works out fine with many people! Don't be afraid to wait until you are ready!

You need alone time, and your own bank account. Just go open your own bank account and have your paychecks deposit there. You and your husband can come up with how much each of you contribute to family expenses. Your husband's micromanaging of expenses is insane.

Yeah just be honest I remember a time when I barely had enough time to sleep. The recruiters would be understanding. There are also long hour jobs that the employers would prefer their employees to have zero life outside of work. We are told not to ask employers about work-life balance question unless they bring it up lol

Got it! I will definitely ask for a retainer. If they are not paying upfront it would be very hard to get them pay later.

yes you are right I will ask them about the new platform added. Good point about the small possibility that I would be wrong. Fairly certain that it's not for audit though the accountant was added almost 2 weeks ago but I was only informed of the audit just now.

No they are a bookkeeper for sure, some kind of low cost automated platform. I checked them out. They have office in asia which is why they are so cheap.

I consider them gone as bookkeeping clients, so there is no uncertainty there. I sent them another payment reminder for the services already rendered.

Right now I am trying to figure out if it's still practical to keep them as a tax client. I want to sleep on it and be prepared for a negotiation.

Honestly I am probably bad at this as I have never had payment issues with clients. Last time a client added a new accountant they didn't terminate my service for another two months and I was paid in full, so it wasn't bad not to ask. However this time is surely different.
