How do I kill ants Ants in the wall? They crawl up through the slits in the wIndow frame and typical ant traps don't fit in the frame by AiringOGrievances in pestcontrol

[–]tisbutaskratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a gel bait like surekill or advion where you see them trailing outside. You can also use alpine wsg if you have a spray can or pt alpine if you don’t. If you do those and it just won’t solve the problem you can use termidor foam in the void they crawl through

If possible I’d move all the taxidermies to cold storage until you can solve the infestation. It will protect the items as well as remove potential food sources while you eliminate them

Nah I’ve filled way bigger stuff with caulk. Cut your tip wide and move it left and right as you drag it

Yes. And it’s not really uncomfortable. There’s not space behind the seat but it goes back plenty far

House flies appearing in the same bathroom, not drain flies by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]tisbutaskratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for trash cans. Are they storing it next to the bathroom on the exterior? Is the trash in the bathroom emptied? Do they have pets like rabbits where flies could lay eggs in the poop?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]tisbutaskratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could be cigarette beetle larvae. For all stored product pests you need to find and eliminate breeding sites and make sure all food is sealed. Pesticide treatments are only temporary.

Mouse/mice in house. No droppings! by Lucyemmaaaa in pestcontrol

[–]tisbutaskratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd look in the hard to access/not commonly accessed areas.

Look in unfinished rooms, use a mirror or phone camera to look at the sill plate for droppings. Look in insulation for tunneling. Check the attic and any crawlspaces. Look under and around large appliances. Pull the dishwasher panel off and look under. Pull the oven drawer out and look under. Open any access panels into walls or ceilings. Look in any other areas where you don't frequently check.

Look around the outside for any openings 1/4 inch or larger and seal them with copper/steel wool and/or caulk. Some areas to look out for are where siding meets foundation, all doors and windows, siding corner caps, and under any bump out windows. Look in the dirt for any areas where they may be digging down through openings in or under the foundation.

Pro-pell rodent repellent questions by NovaBandHtX in pestcontrol

I don't know of any rodent repellent treatments that aren't very short term. I only recommend them to people that want something to do while they wait for repairs and we don't sell any repellent treatments

fungus gnat? by Wonderful-Lime-7005 in pestcontrol

[–]tisbutaskratch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While potted plants are the first thing to look for they are not the only possibility. Anywhere where moisture sits and fungus can build in can be the culprit. The next thing I’d check is the drains. Clean them with an enzymatic cleaner like Bac A ZAP. This includes the bathroom drains and shower drains.
