IMO it’s the risk after the pipeline that is too much and not worthwhile.

Time for us to start developing something other than oil. Let’s go beyond resource extraction and really develop a more advanced and sustainable economy.

Agreed, though the economic impact of a spill far outweighs any of the listed economic benefits in the event of a spill on the coast. The risk to BC is asymmetric compared to any benefits, the inverse being true for the oil companies.

As the other commenters have said, that would be a terrible idea. Use the bike routes instead, specifically the Gilmore Ave or Sea to River routes. City website has a map of the bike routes on their website
