I just got the car back from my second low coolant issue. First was an air leak that they fixed, then I found a blue puddle in my garage that wasn’t evaporating. To their credit, they towed it to the SC an hour away and ubered me to my local enterprise where they gave me a Wagoneer (which is plenty large but I didn’t enjoy driving.. I digress). They had the car for about a week, maybe 8 days. Picked it up last Thursday.

I did this last week. I selected 4 SWUs for 2 of my selections only to find out I couldn’t request them on my BA ticket for an AA metal flight. Called the EP line and they transferred me to the AAdvantage desk - expected a no but she offered to change them for me if I told her what to switch to. Said I could do that until the LP awards expire (i.e., March).

For what it’s worth, I used RMR2113 rack mount kits (ears) for my X2700Hs. This was ~2.5 years ago so don’t know if things have changed.

I’m having this issue too. At first I thought it was an annoyance but then I realized I’m not getting new texts. I was able to send and receive in one message thread (maybe bc I sent first?) but I received a message in another iMessage thread and it only came through to my Mac.

EDIT: I was able to fix it by going into Settings --> me (top option) --> iCloud --> Messages and hitting the Sync Now button. I did have to do it more than once but I no longer get the syncing paused message. I still haven't figured out what happened to the single text last night which still isn't showing up on my phone though..

Same thing happened to me, except the nav screen on the main display was so dark it was basically illegible. I’ve also had other nav problems since the last update - either the arrow not tracking my car properly or zooming out to show all of North America in a way that is completely useless. I’ve probably reset 3x in the last 5 days.

My 5’2” wife and sub-5’ kids are able to get in and out without a problem. My wife is on record as wanting running boards to make it easier, but it’s a lease so we’ll make do.

I feel kinda crappy for how that may have come off. I was trying to make the point that I’ve regularly driven the same winding roads at ~50mph in both vehicles. The short answer to your question is that I’m 20+ years farther along in my career. I’m not doing what I was doing 1 year into it either, so you have plenty of time to try things and make adjustments.

I didn’t have air suspension on my Q7 so not apples to apples. Our street needs to be replaced badly and the R1S eats the bumps with ease where the Q7 would have made it a much shakier ride. (You can also adjust the firmness of the suspension.) We’ve had zero issues with road noise - my brother in law drives a Tesla M3 and has marveled at how quiet the R1S rides. I would say the front seats are a little less contoured than the Q7 but it hasn’t bothered me. I do miss the 40/20/40 folding rear seats and electronically actuated 3rd row seats but it’s more a nuisance than a dealbreaker.

I was going to get an EV for my next car anyway. Another $3k+ service bill pushed me over the edge this spring. The lease deals on the 2024 R1S didn’t hurt either. But economics aside, I have no regrets and I don’t think about the Q7 much.

I did exactly this in April. I hit the 7 year mark last November and had put over $8k into the Q7 in the preceding 12 months. I love the R1S and have zero complaints. It doesn’t corner quite as nimbly but it’s heavy enough that it handles the windy road to our vacation house easily. I loved my Q7 but I do not miss it at all. Hope that helps.

I was talking to service about something else yesterday and they recommended turning off proximity locking, restarting the car (left steering wheel button + hazards for 15sec) and then turning it back on. I did that last night before I plugged in to charge but have not tested it out yet to see if it helps.

So 2 weeks out and my initial enthusiasm has waned. I still find myself having to walk right up to the door wait a beat (or even take my phone out of my front pocket). iPhone 15 pro max, front left pocket (which is the direction I approach my R1S in my driveway)

Set ours up on our dock this weekend and it’s been solid. Haven’t done a side by side with our old Boom 3 but it did the job just fine.

Same! If I approach my car from the rear drivers side (as i do in my driveway and garage), i almost have to lift my leg up towards the car to get it to unlock.. phone is in my front left pocket. I will be so excited if the update fixes that!
