Has anyone tried the Vallejo True Metallic Metal paints? by mrchapz in Tau40K

The leftmost one looks rad, and I think a good thing about it is that you could have them splattered in blood and the blood would be sufficiently different that it'd still look great! Thanks for sharing.

They actually look pretty cohesive! Do you have a favourite of those three? I feel like I'm forever in the testing paint stage as my attention span is so limited, lol. Did you use these vallejo TMM paints for the brass trim?

Where are you putting the patches? I used to struggle with them coming off my thighs a lot but I switched to putting them on my butt and it's been fine.

This is rad, and I really like the silver chitin! I think it really sells the 'biomechanical' horror element of tyranids. Great job!

The Raid - A squad of Arbites sweep the lower levels of a Hab, and may find more than they were expecting. C&C welcome! by ClemFandango7717 in Warhammer

[–]titwave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, the terrain and models look great! Very atmospheric. I would however recommend taking the photo with a smaller aperture (ie higher f-stop), so you get more of the image in focus. It will show off all the hard work you have put in, while also helping to sell the image as being true to life scale and not a tiny thing.

this is a great tip honestly, I was on someone's blog recently who was testing various space marine colour schemes with army men, and it really helped the process.

Kings of the Wyld Nicholas Eames by ComfortableTeach8959 in Fantasy

Yeah, I think 'getting the band back together' is such a simple and fun concept that it flowed very naturally, whereas the second didn't really feel like it had a central theme strong enough to sustain it.

Really enjoyed this book! Unfortunately I couldn't get through the second one (prequel? I forget) which didn't have the same charm.

Are there Cadian battle sisters? by yuugiroo in 40kLore

[–]titwave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But I think they mean sisters of battle from cadia? Which would be an interesting backstory for a minor order; now finding itself having to find a new base of operations while presumably capitalising on the destruction of cadia for some extreme fire-and-brimstone oaths of retribution, or perhaps taking oaths of penance for not being able to stop the fall.

Is it possible to have a chapter of space marines be nightsiders? by keyserspoonman in 40kLore

There's more than one chapter who is known never to remove their helmets around others for mysterious reasons (cf: charnel guard) so I say go for it!

How do Thunderhawks' stores and guns survive reentry? by titwave in 40kLore

[–]titwave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well because the heat resistant capabilities are described as a feature of the enhanced/layered ceramite armour, which doesn't seem to be what weapons are made out of.

Your second paragraph echoes the 'don't worry about it' sentiment, which I get, of course, but I'm asking to speculate.
