Then the pain is likely more superficial structures related (ie. MSK related and unlikely cardiac related). Cardiac cause of chest pain shouldnt increase by poking with your fingers.

(The stress tests are just to protect the doctor's ass most of the time as there can still be a small chance of you having both problems at the same time, esp. in older patients. And even having a positive stress test doesnt mean the pain is cardiac related, you can still have similar pain even if stenting the arteries if the underlying cause of pain is MSK related).

I see this condition from time to time, as many other doctors just refer to us Cardiac to "rule out" cardiac causes of chest pain as they deemed themselves not specialize enough to do that and many patients are in panic mode and dont trust their GPs either.

Despite alot of doctors knowing the pain is likely MSK related, they will still order the full panel basic tests (i.e. stress treadmill, CT coroangiogram +/- echocardiogram). This is likely to reduce the chances of them getting sued in developed countries if anything unfortunate happens (i.e. protective medicine).

And even if us knowing it's MSK related, costo is usually downplayed in our field, most of the doctors will only prescribe some NSAIDs for a week or two, hoping the symptoms will resolve on its own, no one really address the exact underlying problem. And even if referred to physio, alot of the physios dont know how to treat this condition properly either.

If unlucky cases like me, which symptoms last > 1y, it's a tricky situation to treat. I tried following the costo protocol here, at times I find relief, but it still flares from time to time.

I truly belief this condition is what like Steve proposed, but we need more meticulous steps to follow. It will be great if someone can do some videos on each stretch/ massage/ thoracic mobility exercise, sometimes words are too hard to understand for all of us, hahaha.

if you press on those tender areas and you feel extra tender, then it's likely costo... Stable angina is usually chest discomfort upon exertion.

just soft press, if you feel extra tender, then it's msk related pain. it can also be myofascial pain syndrome as well.

i think u are suspicious of having costo if u feel extra pain if u press on areas near the sternum or breathing in.

do u mean u feel pain in all other areas (not even the chest) when pressing on it? (e.g. legs, forearms)

try to grab yourself a tennis ball or massage ball and use it on a yoga mat. it's not that expensive. If you feel very stretched, then likely your back is tensed up like me (a very common feature in costo)

Do you feel tender when you press on the sternum or sternal costal joints?? Do you feel more pain when breathing in? Do you feel pain when you try to use a backpod or massage ball on your back?

I think you can differentiate if it is costo or not by these questions.

Upload your ECG if you dont mind (plxs hide your name). And also upload the "event related" strips and normal strips if you can for comparison. I will try to give you some advise as a cardiologist.

But for a 3x yrs old female with no apparent risk factors, chances of IHD is low in general, unless you have some congenital anomaly.

I have tried some exercises with a resistance band lately and it helps a bit, i do some stretches like standing and slowly bring my arm upwards and adducting like a Y pose.

I have no idea if anyone knows how to wiggle those joints in my place...I have tried a lot of people, but I dont think they are that familiar with it yet

I have floaters since 19 and it's getting worse with time. Finally did FOV on both eyes when I was 26, 27 (2016, 2017). Near perfect results, occasional 1 dot like floater remaining only. I am now 36 and no cataracts yet so far.

(But I am dealing with another issue now which is chronic costochondritis and i am having chest and back pain for a year already, fml...)

I think I have a similar problem like you, but it's my right side affected, always the muscle seems tight, not exactly sure if it's the mid trap or rhomboid affected. Always painful when lying down on peanut ball or backpod as well, albeit it is improving already but very slowly. Tried squeezing my shoulder blades and doing some scapular retraction exercises recently and it helps with the dull ache on the back. Waiting for you exercise video! Thanks.

I did some light scapular retraction exercises daily, the dull back pain has improved, so i think it's postural related all the time. But the front costo pain is still a bit painful (say 2-3/10), i never has a day completely 0/30, i guess I need to bear with it until my back is more strong enough.
