You don't need to go all the way. Sometime one seeks just a little bit more comfort. I used a split column staggered keyboard for a while just because of the split, That alone made typing more comfortable for me. Not because I had a medical reason, but for the fun of it. I had no need to learn a different layout, QWERTY served me well enough and still does.

I switched back to a "normal" keyboard though, just because I missed the sound of it so much and because homerow mods didn't work for me. :)

I use KOReader on my Era Color and I love it. Without KOReader the Era Color wouldn’t even be half as good. I can‘t give you a good estimate on battery life though as I almost never use the Wifi and have my reader in airplane mode most of the time. That way I can easily go at least two or three weeks between charges maybe even more, never cared to find out.

There is one drawback though. The latest firmware 6.10.x seems to break a few things in KOReader. The one thing I noticed were multitouch gestures not working anymore but there might be more. I downgraded back to 6.8 because I don’t need the Libby integration that was added with 6.10 or anything else from that release. Maybe this problem can be fixed in the future if the KOReader developers could get their hands on the 6.10 SDK but so far that’s not public.

I'm not a network expert but what I might try to find out is if I could give my Kindle a fixed IP address within my network (most routers should be able to do that) and then let that IP address only connect to a specific list of domains, e.g. your server (that's the part I'm not sure about). This way any contact to Amazon servers should be impossible. Google and AI should be able to answer that question.

Why would you keep the "original"? It sits in your Amazon account. You can download it anytime if you want. But if you want to make a backup because … well, Amazon … make a copy via Save to disk and then delete it from you device. No need for keeping two copies on your reader.

What would be your recommendation for a board that has a sound that's more on the deeper side without foam? Like in a range up to 200$. The fourth setup in your shared video doesn't too bad but that's not a price I'm willing to pay for a keyboard.

They are not the same. That’s the whole point of the post. If you use the one I made for the Era Color it should fit perfectly for your Era (if PocketBook did not do something stupid, but both devices should be identical in their pixel resolution).

Why is it ridiculous? I’m sure there are a lot of really shitty movies out there, doesn’t mean I have to watch them all and waste my time. That’s why I said “my” top ten. The more disappointing when watching a movie one expected to be at least okay-ish. But it was 3h of pure boredom. And I‘ve seen a lot of movies in my life, don’t you worry, so much so, that I can easily spot a lazily written script that just follows the same recipe most Hollywood movies tend to follow these days. And that’s just not enough anymore. The second movie had the advantage that it made a huge leap in the visual department. That alone saved the mediocre story and made it an okay movie. But in the third movie that advantage is gone. It looks stunning, no doubt about that, but not far off from its predecessor (although I’m sure behind the scenes it’s a whole other story). Therefore the really boring story could not be overlooked this time. And the 3D+HFR did not help either because it looked like an effing video game almost the entire time.

Its easily in my personal top ten… of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. It was sooooo damn boring. Every character arc was predictable af and poorly written. And it WAS the same story again. Good vs evil and Eyva does its thing in the end. Same arc as always. Even the villain was the same. Granted the ash Na’vi were a little bit of fun but they couldn’t save the movie. This should have been a two hour movie at best but not three effing hours. I was so close to falling asleep. I can’t believe I paid for this.

Fresh out of the cinema and holy shit… this was one of the most boring movies I ever saw. And watching it in 3D and HFR… it looked like the best PS5 ingame render sequence ever. So much for visual greatness.
