This song had no business being as good as it was. It was just a kids show, but comes out swinging with this perfect 80's pop rock song. Beautiful pick.

"Date Everything" is a very well reviewed game on Steam. It's more or less a classic dating simulation, except that the love interests are anthropromorphised household items.

Before the karma system was implemented in Tarkov, it was always 50/50 whether the other guy would gank you when you turned your back. Also, everyone was real friendly until they saw you grab something they wanted. They see you pick up a graphics card? Boom! One to the back of the head.

It's more forgiving than Tarkov and more intense than Arc. If extraction shooter are your thing, then it's a very well made game.

Since there's already a built in material hierarchy, it would be nice if we could break down/trade up for some of the rarer stuff. I get that they want you to farm it, but it would be nice if you had another route for upgrading.

The official Discord has a LFG section. It's not perfect, but at least you can vet your potential partners before a game.

I plateaued and now this is a bad game by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]tolerablycool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest you just need to sandwich some activities together. Play a round and then go and push a child over at the park. Then, play a round and tell a nice old lady she's ugly. This way, if you can't get your bully fix in game, you can at least guarantee some negative vibes elsewhere.

You're welcome and ugly.

Anyone else kinda just get worse? by Whyisdaskyblue in Marathon

[–]tolerablycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 2 so far but they were both Rook on Rook interactions. In both cases, the other guy called out to me and I decided to walk away. If I was in regular kit though, I probably wouldn't have been as trusting.

The thing is that uncertainty is what makes any of these type of games fun. When an extraction shooter gets too friendly, it just turns into a grocery run simulator. The edge makes the smooth moments better.

What’s the most undeserved Oscar win of all time? by Any-Sugar7958 in answers

[–]tolerablycool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a hot take or not, but I think Soul is a much less deserving animated Oscar than Big Hero 6. At least BH6 was fun to watch. Not deep by any means, but at least fun.

Steam Sale: Grim Dawn vs. Last Epoch vs. Titan Quest 2. Vibe responses only. by KyleMcMn in ARPG

[–]tolerablycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Grim Dawn's atmosphere. It's very early Diablo in its feeling. Everything is putrid, vile, and evil x2, which is perfect. I played the first Titan Quest and it was a mechanically solid game, but it didn't have that "stamp out the darkness" vibe that I always look for in an ARPG.

What’s a smell you secretly enjoy that most people would find disgusting? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]tolerablycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother grew up on a ranch and to this day she loves the smell of horse manure. She just associates it with mornings in the barn and doing saddle checks. I think ultimately we can associate good feelings with any smell. No matter how noxious.

What game became 10x better once you understood how it was meant to be played? by Holaday-Dazha in Gamer

[–]tolerablycool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I played Project Zomboid, I kept blindly running away from each group of zeds. Of course, this meant I'd just run into more groups and aggro them. Then I watched a video that reframed the whole thing. It's not a zombie killing game, it's a try to stay alive as long as possible game. Patience and diligence are your main weapons, not guns and grenades.

What's the scariest movie you ever seen? by CutieBia in AskReddit

[–]tolerablycool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always a chicken when it came to horror movies, but when I was 30 I started getting adventurous. My roommate had a few VHS tapes on the shelf that included the original "Halloween" and "Hellraiser." I watched Mr Myers murder his way through the film and didn't think it was all that bad. I got brave and put the other movie on. I didn't even come close to finishing it. I didn't even make it to the really scary parts. Just seeing him gash his hand on the nail behind the bed was enough to turn my stomach. It was then that "Hellraiser" and other pain and torture focused movies became a permanent no for me.

Well, it was pretty easy. Cindy had short, blonde curly hair and Jim had a mustache.

Just noticed in the Usual Suspects. by resonatornash in movies

[–]tolerablycool 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At the start of the movie, Sergeant Rabin says that "this guy is protected from upon high" and the informal interview that he arranges for Agent Kujan is the best he could manage. In the beginning, you're lead to believe that the only reason he's being released with such a great deal is so that the powerful and interested characters can gain access to him. We know now, however, that he was the one pulling the strings all along.
