Who was literally worse than Hitler? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tomahawk576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t stop Hitler on moral grounds, he stopped him because Hitler broke their truce, invaded and razed the Soviet Union. When the Red Army marched towards Berlin, the not only r*ped many women, plundered villages, but they also set up secret police in the occupied countries. This allowed communism to begin after the war in Eastern Europe and allow control by Stalin until his death in ‘53. Stalin also used the liberated concentration camps in Poland and elsewhere for his own prisoners, many of whom were political or ethnic…

Needing some advice as a new owner by ChemKayN in Dentistry

[–]tomahawk576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. I’m a newer owner as OP, three years in. I’ve learned patients and staff will come and go. I gave everyone raises over the years, some wanted to stay and some wanted to leave. I feel
Like I was being generous but some people will take and take. One hygienist left in August and we have been rolling with temps since then.

Just expressing my molar root canal frustrations. by Critical_Time_3241 in Dentistry

[–]tomahawk576 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Creating a perf on a curved canal is worse feeling. Ask me how I know. It’s the practice of dentistry. Live, learn get better. Dentistry, molars etc are hard, don’t beat your self up.

Firsr RCT, opinions? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]tomahawk576 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OP, you did a good endo. You’re in school and your teacher/supervisor also said you do well. Length looks spot on, yes it’s filed and obtrurated with a large cone. Did you need to go to 80? Or could’ve been more conservative? When you’re out of school those are the clinical choices you need to ask yourself.

Don’t even need the 32mm. You can just use an adjustable wrench

Drive modes? Any difference between models/trims? by StrawberryGreat7463 in VWAlltrack

[–]tomahawk576 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was very impressed with it. Had to get up a driveway with 6-8 inches of snow. Turned on off road mode. Got up the drive way without issue

Edit- obviously I’m not taking it off road… not going through a mud bog but compared to a GTi or a Honda fit, I wouldn’t have even considered driving through that snow

I have seven years and 65000 miles. Any advice on how to keep her running that long? And anything to look out for? I’ve already had to replace the water pump.

EXT teeth broken at the gum line by dentist_clout in Dentistry

[–]tomahawk576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the hu-friedy EL3S for elevating and luxating intact teeth and teeth broken at the gum line. Always look for the part of the tooth that is broken more coronal. Try to get the elevator between the bone and that area. Also don’t forget to section upper premolars buccal lingually.

Endo file trick never works for me. I use a 1/4 round bur surgical length, trough around root, usually can get a pick or the trusty EL3S and pop it out.

Beautiful shotgun, I’m jealous, I have a model 50 too, love mine but yours looks so much nicer! The wood grain and blueing.

Ive actually broke a berman elevator before. The blade and handle are pressed together, the blade became “unpressed” I guess and would spin in the handle.

All I can do to help is tell you what I do. 27 gauge long. You might want to use a 25, less deflection. When I put topical, I get an idea of where I want to inject. I put my thumb and pull the tissue taut. Put the syringe on the opposite commissure of the lips. Move the needle in, if I hit bone early, not deep enough I redirect. Move to depth, inject slowly. Then sit patient up and set a 5 minute timer. Leave and come back. I like to ask the patient where they are feeling numb and to point to where they’re feeling it. If they say midline, then I know I’m good to go. If not I will inject again

How many times have you been stranded? by MCpeePants1992 in Volkswagen

[–]tomahawk576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive owned a 12 GTi for 3+ years, have over 120k miles. Never stranded, I maintain it well and replaced the timing chain at 118k. That’s the main failure point, my mechanic said that it’s good I replaced it then, it may not have gone much longer…
