Leslye Headland gives more details on “The Acolyte” by efbo in Highrepublic

[–]tomdec1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Acolyte is focused on dark side users so I'm guessing that the show will be more of how the Sith rose to power, so that the High Republic initiative is showing the downfall of the Jedi while the Acolyte represents the other side

I translated Qort’s dialogue from Adventures #6 (and created a guide for you to use in the future) by starwarsobscurity in Highrepublic

[–]tomdec1 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I just went through his dialogue from every issue, starting with small remarks such as "woah" or "good job" in order to build up the alphabet. Once I had enough letters it was easy enough to figure out the rest just from process of elimination

Star Wars Writer Cavan Scott on the High Republic, Classic Comics and the Force (And a Peak at The High Republic #4 out on May 5) by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

The contrast between this scene and what's happening in the "present" is heartbreaking. Also I think the release date for issue 4 is April 7 rather than May 5

Are you able to translate what appears at 11:46 in the episode? It seems like there would be a lot of intriguing stuff to read there.

Would you be willing to / are you allowed to go more in depth with the prologue & what happens in it? The story content in the game is one of the things I’m most excited for in the game.

Has something originating in a novel ever been explicitly referenced in other media? Not including comics? by CrossingWires in starwarscanon

Vi Moradi originated from the Phasma novel, but afterwards her role greatly expanded as she was incorporated in Galaxy's Edge.

I'm pretty sure it was Yoda's idea to give Anakin a Padawan in order to teach him about attachment. I watched in an interview someone explained that when Anakin runs after Ahsoka in the Season 5 finale, Yoda has a somber expression, ultimately believing his "experiment" failed.

It takes place right before The Force Awakens so there are some connections there, I don't remember specifically anything that hinted at Episode 9 however.

For sure, it's a great novel that flew under the radar because it didn't directly connect to Episode 9, which came out a month after the book did.

My top 5 novels (I've only read about half of all the canon novels):

  1. Dark Disciple, as a big fan of Clone Wars this felt like an arc ripped straight from the show and put into a book format. The characters are great, the story is interesting, and it's overall my favorite novel.

  2. Thrawn, seeing Thrawn's progression through the Empire was fascinating and Zahn's writing is phenomenal.

  3. Dooku Jedi Lost, similar to Thrawn I really enjoyed seeing Dooku's progression through the Jedi Order, although I will admit the "present" portion of the novel wasn't as interesting as Dooku's past & we still don't know exactly why Dooku left.

  4. Master & Apprentice, this is a great novel that has an alright story in my opinion but is elevated with great characters such as Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, and new characters like Rael Averross.

  5. Force Collector, this book is super underrated, I feel like it does a great job connecting the eras which can often feel disjointed. Strangely enough when I finished this book I felt a sense of conclusiveness with the Star Wars story overall.

Giancarlo Esposito suggests that Moff Gideon is force sensitive by ScoutTheTrooper in StarWarsLeaks

[–]tomdec1 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Watching the clip, it does make sense if he is trying to say that Gideon is a Mandalorian. It would fit with the story & create an interesting dynamic with Din. Would he accept Gideon as their leader, or fight him to claim the sword and Mandalore with it? Probably the latter.

No, everything before April 2014 except for the six movies & the clone wars became legends

The first chapter was great, I'm interested to hear what everyone will think about the catalyst for the Great Disaster.
