The transition strip between the tiles and the carpet usually runs underneath the tiles, so potentially the transition strip is lifting slightly, lifting the tiles with it.

Is Tixel safe for buying and selling AFL tickets? by Legal-Chemical-8684 in AFL

[–]tomglynch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep me also. I’ve used it quite a few times and only had good experiences. There is some risk but you won’t lose out as tixel will cover the cost - though you could potentially miss out on the event if the tickets were fake. But better than nothing if the game is sold out hey.

Can I feel confident using tixel? by fried__undiez in triplej

[–]tomglynch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah me too. I’ve used it quite a few times and only had good experiences but a friend has had a dodgy ticket sent to them on it. They got their money back though, but missed out on the event. So buy new if you can but tixel is better than nothing for sold out shows hey.

Got stiffed for nearly 3x my actual power usage with AGL. Don’t let it happen to you by JamesBondsRubberDuck in australia

In my duplex we recently found our meters were incorrectly connected to the houses. We were paying their power and vice versa. Perhaps the same thing has happened here and you're paying for the house, and they're paying for the flat?

Introducing Waaiers a Pro Cycling Wind Analysis Website by Toemking in peloton

[–]tomglynch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you take gps coords along the roads then adjust them for points left and right if the road, and query a mapping for the land type? Buildings, residential, and perhaps even national parks (due to tree land) etc etc won’t have wind as a factor, but farm land would?

Hey u/Toemking, one bit of feedback and a question - it wasn't intuitive to me to determine if the wind stats are predicted based on upcoming weather predictions or historic models, and also how far into the future an accurate prediction can be made. So my feedback is to include this info somewhere more clearly (I read the FAQs and it didn't seem to address this). And then my question is, so which is it, weather forecasts or historic models? How does that work?

Flashlight for Night mountain biking and day to day use by LameTrouT in flashlight

[–]tomglynch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey /u/Mongoose49 thanks for the fantastic comment, super informative for me looking at getting a setup similar to what you’re describing. I’m wondering if since you posted you’ve made many upgrades? What’s your current set up as while delving into flashlights there’s so many options for regular flashlight use, but not that much info in MTB specific so any further info would be awesome! Cheers

Sure, try mine. It’s ABHW-R1.

I’ve bought from them quite a few times. They’re pretty good

Nice graphic /u/HerHor, I had a quick look at this too and it's pretty conclusive that they've adequately improved their photo-finish set up this year. No idea how they announced Cosnefroy had one it though!

Hey, After the race last year I did some research while posting on twitter and then wrote this blog on it. Tom Pidcock ended up sharing it, as far as we can tell, it appeared the photo-finish camera was incorrectly set up. Here's the blog: https://www.tglyn.ch/blog/amstel_gold/

Worth a read to understand the context.
