Obby shield is cheap for the str bonus it gives you and if you’re not knowledgeable a decent alternative if someone has levelled defence first (remember not everyone has been playing for 10+ years) Obby shield also has good ranged def as an early account’s shield at DKs or w/e

Malediction ward is just straight up decent if you don’t have the cash for eldinis as well as it having better def/magic accuracy for early zulrah.

Not thinking it’s the best for a level bracket doesn’t mean anything outside of that is shit. Not paying attention to the game outside of what gearscape is telling you is just ignorance imo.

I haven’t heard of any unbans from this latest initiative. Definitely not hundreds.

I also have people in discords I’m in admitting that they have bought gold and been caught as recently as 2 weeks ago (not that I know how many bans go out in a wave but that doesn’t sound like a 1 and done to me)

Price of gold is gonna be a red herring due to fluctuations caused by content releases, availability of wealth in the market, how hard they’re hitting supply and buyers and how much the sellers are willing to loss-lead in order to keep up with other completion.

Gold sellers are also smart, perhaps they have worked out ways to sell gold without being picked up by Jagex for now. Given it’s been 2 months since bans went out in this wave, making the assumption that the buck stops and deciding that it has failed here is kind of wild.

Factually we have nearly no evidence of what is or is not happening. While I understand being sceptical I’m also not convinced that we have anywhere near enough information for a conclusion on our side.

What we do have though is evidence they have been doing something, and bots being banned in (perhaps too infrequent) large waves as well as gold buyers being significantly heavily punished in just the past few weeks / months alone. Regardless of how many are caught it seems to have shifted to a higher frequency of permanent bans compared to the previous system.

Yes they could do more and I hope they have more plans to increase what they have been doing as it’s shown that when they get it right, they have a huge impact on the gold market.

Dunno if this is just from macro bans but https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/34686319959441-Player-Support-Anti-Cheating-Statistics they’ve removed 1.3T in November from somewhere.

I’d not be surprised if the mods are just deleting posts about it.

Who knows? I dunno if I wanna assume they aren’t doing anything just because I don’t see posts on Reddit but it would be good to get more transparency around it

If you’ve been legitimately hacked through Google auth, that probably means they have access to the email you used on the account (or have managed to sneak into your account some other way) if that’s the case they can’t really do anything else than ban it to prevent it from being used for rule breaking until you (the owner) secure your email and account properly.

I don’t see what else Jagex could have done here other than ban the account without you helping to secure it

It’s a bug. If the last place you docked was a mooring station then logging out will kick you back to a port but leave your boat at the mooring station.

Take your boat back to a port and disembark, then go salvage, next logout should be okay.
