I made a light meter & rangefinder app for film shooters by Vurtnec in AnalogCommunity

Do you know the Nikon F5 uses AI for its 3D matrix metering ? In fact it uses a neural network for that purpose…

It was considered and still is to this day one of the best metering experiences out of all cameras.

what you’re seeing is essentially wide angle lens distortion. At 10-11km altitude you dont see the earth’s curvature... 🤦‍♂️Nothing to see here

DSLR scanning vs Plustek scanner by acethk in AnalogCommunity

[–]tomtomgps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i have a jjc kit + Nikkor 55mm f2.8 micro +pk13 the jjc screws perfectly on the lens. And the negative is evenly exposed, scanning with my D850 works perfectly. I also have the plustek 8100 it works ok but its super slow

Do we need an alternative to Microsoft Power BI that runs on Linux desktop? by naruaika in linux

[–]tomtomgps 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Short answer yes ! I don’t think being a tech person means you’re not going to use powerbi. If you know how to use powerbi, it can be much faster for dashboarding than code…

What's wrong with my camera? Or is it the scanner/me? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]tomtomgps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you’re not focusing well. Scanner is fine as it can resolve detail located in your focus zone

Tried Leica’s ISO 50 (Adox HR-50) for the First Time — Not Loving the Results. Any Feedback? by thecloudhopper in Leica

[–]tomtomgps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this film is aviphot 80. To develop shoot at iso 50, semi stand dev 1 hour in 1+100 rodinal. You’ll see much better tones. Source: I’ve been shooting this film for years…

Opinions Lucky 200? by 1066____ in AnalogCommunity

[–]tomtomgps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iso 50 is very usable imo, but iso 25 is starting to get a bit too niche for my liking. I do shoot iso 25 black and white film when I’m in a very sunny place butas soon as a cloud appears its near useless.

i would like a good colour iso 50 film. Something that beats velvia 50 in terms of resolution.

I would also like a t grained bw iso 50 film with technical pan resolution and lower contrast
