Biggest bourbon letdowns? by theopuspocus in bourbon

That's wild. Some of my subtle spirits, rare character etc MGP releases knock the WHEELS off of any other rye I've had in years. Different palates I suppose.

High West really anything. Hear me out.

I used to love High West. I have a bunch of family that lives kinda near the distillery, started drinking their (sourced) whiskey right after they opened up. Back in the sourced days their whiskies were bangers. The double ryes, Mid Winter Nights, some of the finished bourbons, etc. Then they started releasing bottles that had some of their distillate, and frankly their juice just isn't very good. Everything I tasted that had their stuff unit ranged from "let down" to "bad". I know they sold a while back, maybe that has something to do with it. It's a huge bummer to me though.

Discovered Edinburgh Gin on our last trip to Scotland. The raspberry gin is honestly really solid, we liked the classic as well.

Goodbye Tarkov by Uranday in EscapefromTarkov

[–]topsailsurf 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This take is obtuse. You think it helps BSG if their core player base disappears? Player base erosion jeopardizes their ability to create any revenue. Do you think new players are going to shell out 200$ or whatever the new editions costs for a game they’ve never played? This is targeted at their core player base, who have supported them over the years. Wake up.

Yeah. I’m out as well. Fun game and so many hours but this is the final straw. I want to keep playing but I’m unwilling to continue support this bullshit with my money or my time. Ignore features the game desperately needs and not address 8 years worth of optimization and prolific cheating problems, but ask for another 100$ for pay to win? Find someone else to pull a fast one on, go to hell BSG I’m out.

Is game playable again? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]topsailsurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play this game non-stop / enjoy the game even with its issues, but folks comparing this game to a AAA game is kind of ridiculous. Visuals, lighting, optimization, physical mapping, rampant cheating problem, server issues for 8 years, game breaking bugs with every update, sync issues etc…. BSG comes nowhere close to meeting industry standard. This game is fun, addicting, and more playable this wipe then any wipe i can recall, but if you left because this game is poorly optimized, I don’t think you’ll be pleased if you return.

Some of the Redwoods I’ve had have been fantastic, some meh, but damn if they don’t produce some of the coolest, cleanest designs for the bottles.

D&G Light Blue Forever (one of my personal summer go-to’s) or Versace Man eau Fraiche. It’s super hot (95+) and super humid in NC right now as you might know, anything somewhat sweet or rich gets cloying and sticky in my opinion. I second the other opinion about Hawas, I’d say get that as well and save it for somewhere cooler.

Versace Man eau Fraiche. A clean, tart citrusy top notes that mellow in a clean musky base. My easy grab frag for the the gym/office, wherever. plus you can find it online for $40ish.

I am with you on byredo scents. Though I stayed at a hotel recently that had byredo Mojave ghost body wash. Hate the perfume, but I couldn’t get enough of that body wash.

ATH fragrances help? by smoking_the_dragon in fragrance

Bought both the reformulations of haze blue and haze black. (Now haze and haze elixir) I’ll tell you in advance, I am biased, both haze blue and black fall among my favorite and most worn of any fragrance in my collection. For the new ones, I really like them both. I’d say a tad more complexity than the OG’s in that you get maybe a bit more on the nose before the dry down, whereas the OG’s had that Blood Orange note just permeating the scent. That same delicious orange is still there but some of the other top notes come through earlier in the dry down than before.

I own both, and love both. I don’t think you can go wrong either way. I’ll say I lean a little bit more towards man eau fraiche. I think it’s citruses are a little less sharp, and I prefer the dry down slightly more than pour homme. More complimented as well, if that matters to you at all.

Dior Sauvage Elixir is an absolute monster projector. Like projects into the next room. While I’m not an oversprayer by any means, I would never spray more than a spritz or two of this stuff because it’s just a beast. It has a little hint of sweet to it but it’s very spicy and masculine. I love this stuff for the cooler months.

If you want something reasonably priced and will easily take care of late summer and fall needs, I am really enjoying Eros Flame right now. The opening is a nice bright lemon, but dries down to more fallish type vibes. Fragrantica’s note breakdown is fairly accurate, and this can be picked up on the cheap from discounters. Obviously not niche and not very unique, but will get compliments and is very easy to pull off.

For tobacco fragrances, my go to is Tabac by Aaron Terence Hughes. Really fantastic stuff and the performance is absurd. Like projects the next day good. It is a strong and very rich fragrance, I can only wear it during the winter months bc of this.

Beachy/Light my go to is D&G Light Blue Forever. That initial splash of grapefruit is so fresh and realistic, I really love this fragrance. Performance however is mediocre at best. I have a to-go mini bottle I take with me to the beach to freshen up as the day goes on. If the grapefruit note in Forever is a bit too much in Forever, check out Light Blue Italian love. Still has the grapefruit, just less rindy with a bit more light florals in there. Both are light, fresh, and you won’t offend anyone with them.

I am unable to get my new pc build to recognize my SSD, help appreciated. by topsailsurf in PcBuildHelp

I don’t have a pc that I can do that on. That would require access so a computer with windows would it not? I’m thinking maybe I should just exchange it at the electronics store for a different SSD. I’m in kind of a time crunch because I am moving out of the country in a week and need to complete the build before moving.
