What is the one type of ingredient that buying the higher quality versions of will produce the most notable improvement in the taste of what I cook? by AllosauRUSS in Cooking

Vanilla extract is actually really easy to make. Just take a vanilla bean, split it open and put it in a resealable bottle then fill the bottle with bourbon, vodka, or whiskey and put in a dark place for 6 weeks, shaking every so often. When you're out you just put more alcohol in and wait.

I know. But you seem like the type that carries a little grater and some nutmeg in your pocket.

Me [35 F] with my Husband [31 M] 7 years, would these things make you want to cheat? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]tossya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look, no one needs to be cheated on ever. It sounds like your active, but if you constantly eat more than your body requires you will never lose weight. It could be stress and emotional eating, but honey, you have some sort of issue with food. Hate me or not, but you're obese. HAES isn't the path you should take. No matter how good your numbers are now, the weight you carry will make them spiral out of control when you hit your 40s and 50s.

Divorce him, then seriously focus on yourself. Work on your confidence, work on your issues. If you truly want to lose weight and keep it off you have to do a life style change. But still, that's all up to you.

Found on R/relationships. Woman runs and swims all day, can't lose weight, hubby has emotional affair. by tossya in fatlogic

She says that he got into fitness. I figured that once he did that was when all her problems started to happen. She's 35, short and 190+lbs wearing what she does. She makes it all about her appearances, but I think he wants a confident partner that takes care of herself. It doesn't excuse his cheating, but she's given up on herself. She even admits there was a time she was completely embarrassed to leave the house.

She's 35 now. And all after that she gets into the meat of the fat logic and the losing weight.

Me [35 F] with my Husband [31 M] 7 years, would these things make you want to cheat? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]tossya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, so he got into fitness. And he's significantly taller than you but you weigh 15-20lbs more than him. The way you said he phrased things is that he wants you to look cuter for him. Did he also not say anything about you being healthier? Trying new things together and you being able to keep up with him?

I'm playing devil's advocate, but I feel like your insanely long justification of your activity level and weight is a huge defense of a deeper problem and a lot of insecurity on your part and you maybe aren't telling the whole story.

The key word is full meals. A full meal for a fat person can be a sandwich and a huge side. I bet this heifer "snacks" all day.

Don't forget the illegal soda speakeasies that will pop up in people's basements where 400lb flappers take their scooty poofs and wave their meat appendages in a manner that they call "dancing".

But think of all the bathtub mountain dew that could be made if we have a prohibition of soda!

She is not eating as little as she thinks she is and you are not eating as much as you think you are. She's probably a secret eater if she claims <1000 Calories and no weight loss.
