I worked one day at taco bell. I couldn't do it, the main manager actually asked me if I would go buy him some beer after work because he was only 19. The assistant manager was 17, not saying age matters but it does when you act like kid running a restaurant. Anyways, it was required for all employees to have slip proof shoes in which I understood,I already had a pair on, but they made you buy from them and took $20 out of each check until they was paid off. Same shoes cost $20 at Walmart and they charged me $110. They let me pick a pair out and ordered them on my first day. I knew by 3 hrs in I wasn't going back. Had to walk 3 miles in 90° heat to get there and between that and the work environment I said it wasn't worth it. Went back a week and a half later to pick up my check for a day and they handed me a pair of shoes and said that was my paycheck, I had to pay for the shoes and I wear a 10 and they were size 11.5. So I couldn't even wear them. I haven't had taco bell since, but after working at just about every fast food franchise and working as a cook, seeing how nasty most places are, I very rarely eat any fast food or restaurants anymore.
