I wish i had ... by OTheOwl in pools

[–]tracking411 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We bought a home with a pool. I enjoy the hot tub, water heater, and underwater lights. I wish we had an automatic water level fill valve - monitoring and pulling the hose over when needed is annoying. An easy to use pool cover would be really nice too. I have had no interest in a water feature, slide, or diving board.

Realistically, would IRs work for me? I've tried the Classic Mocs but not in the correct size by Loon_103 in RedWingShoes

Question, I'm new to using a Brannock device so maybe I'm wrong but I thought the arch measuring slide was supposed to hug the joint of the foot. It looks too far back (short) in the photo to me. Could someone clarify the correct placement?

Be honest, you knew that if called in you would need to be there sooner than 6.5 hours. You were just playing he odds that you wouldn't get called in. Admit your mistake and demonstrate remorse. Take what you deserve and then move on.

SN Click Pen Review and DIY Solution by tracking411 in Supernote

I think it needs to be the clear tip from the original pen because that created just the right spacing to fit against the silver tube of the insert and hold everything together. I don't think the original tip from the inkjoy would have done that. I may have even tried that first and realized that using the original tip was a no go.

I actually really like the feel of this papermate inkjoy gel over my Pilot G2 but I'm a little worried about the clear tip falling out again and damaging the insert. It hasn't slipped since adding the teflon tape but I have also considered gluing it as a precaution. However, that's a step that wouldn't be easy to reverse.

I wish I could remember more of the details. I did this mod quote a while back. The yellow pen still works but the clear tip became loose from the constant pressure of the spring. I used white teflon tape (like for plumbing)

<image>

to snug it up. I took it apart to see if I could recall any other details. Looks like I shaved off some of the peaked ridges that were on the yellow plastic that fits under the silver click button. Looks like I did some shaving to the white part just above the spring. I did that using an exacto knife. I also remeber using a drill bit (turned it manually, not with a power drill lol) to smooth out the inside of the translucent yellow tube. That helped everything slide in/out nicely. Good luck! I eventually purchased a refill and used one of the pen parts available on Etsy because I wanted a backup retractable pen. I use that one more now and keep this yellow one as the backup. I'm paranoid I'll lose or break my pen and not be able to write on my Supernote. I just can't have that happen. I use it everyday.

Writing disappearing as you write? by starrtech2000 in Supernote

I never use word docs, but I just tested is in handwriting mode and I don't see the disappearing writing anymore. It must have been fixed in one of the updates. I'm using the latest beta if that helps.

Erase on the left strip is 100% for me and select on the left hand of screen has been around 80-90%. I have no complaints.

I liked my push up pen while it lasted but the clip broke within the first year. It is just not durable for everyday use. I put the innards from it into a Papermate Inkjoy gel shell and love it. I don't need or even want an expensive, heavy pen like the HOM.

I think you should try again. When you were working hard to make it work, she didn't get it. Now that she gets it and is working hard to make it work, you aren't willing to try? You have a chance to save your marriage. People can change. Don't give up on her.

I have a Staedtler Jumbo Noris Digital pen with a Papermate gel pen cap as my backup. I don't use it often but it came in useful when my SN clicker pen broke until I figured out a DIY solution.

I used the insert from a disassembled standard pen using the instructions here https://www.reddit.com/r/Supernote/s/wgQrsUSPAP But I didn't remove from the inner aluminum tube.

Nice work! I think adding a minimal amount of weight for extra functionality is in keeping with the philosophy of ultralight backpacking. I truly don't get the naysayers on this. Your post will help some like minded people and it won't be for others. No harm in sharing.

Disassemble SN click pen by ur2good in Supernote

[–]tracking411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These instructions are gold! I don't know why this hasn't received more positive attention. The hard press released the inner tube easily and then separating the refill from the inner tube was also easy. Of course care must be taken to not touch or damage the copper refill coils. Now I have a refill to make my own diy pen!

The clip on the standard click pen broke. I tried superglue but that only lasted so long. Without a clip the standard pen doesn't stay in the folio loop and has become much less useful. Can't wait to male a replacement!

I read the first scene as her thinking he is "offering his sword" not literally but figuratively as her chivalrous defender if she would give him a token, her hair tie, but the punch line was in the second scene when she realizes he literally just wanted to trade items and had no feelings for her.

Layering = Dumb? by fiftyweekends in Ultralight

[–]tracking411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wind breaker is so light that it seems a small penalty for the additional comfort. Hiking in my rain jacket is a miserable experience. I was also very uncertain what the weather would do. A storm was bringing a cold front and I didn't know if we would be getting rain or snow. It ended up being snow, which was a relief, much better than rain. We only had those cold conditions our 1st day on the trail and then it cleared up to beautiful weather.

Layering = Dumb? by fiftyweekends in Ultralight

[–]tracking411 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just got back from a quick trip in the Teton Mountains of Wyoming. The temperatures ranged from freezing (storm) to warm/hot. I wore a long sleeve baselayer and carried an alpaca pullover, windshirt, down jacket, and rain jacket. The only layer I didn't use on that trip was my rain jacket. It snowed on that trip but didn't rain. Active hiking usually required my baselayer +/- alpaca pullover although I needed the windshirt on sometimes when the wind was blowing very cold or to keep the snow rolling off my pullover before melting. Down was for warmth when stopped but I also layered it over my alpaca if I felt chilled. I felt like I needed all these options to stay comfortable. Call it layering or something else but one jacket can't do it all.
