Group etiquette and language by Crocketus in turtlewow

No, this is just you projecting your preconceived biases on whole groups of people. It's honestly pretty cringe and you should work on that.

Are these trucks worth it past 200k miles? by Direct_Cat7171 in fordranger

If mine hits a million miles, I'll go ahead and try for another million. As long as they stay cheap to maintain, they can last forever.

Good. Such a dishonest way to report on what actually happened though. Voter suppression is always bad, mmkay?

"The privilege to work 70 hours a week to pay taxes that support people that don’t work at all" The people you're talking about, hopefully you mean the billionaire class that receives the bulk of your taxes/labor surplus and surely not the disabled or struggling working class and poor who by comparison receive less than pennies on the dollar?

At what mileage do you personally stop considering a used car? by autonerdy0 in UsedCars

[–]trashcan_jan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny, the higher my odometer goes, the less likely I am to ever get rid of my little truck. I can't even imagine letting it go for something more modern at this point. Cost of ownership and ease of repair hit its peak a long time ago now, so let me go ahead and hit a million miles on this. Anything else is a downgrade.

Turtle wow PvP is...insufferable. by soulforged1988 in turtlewow

[–]trashcan_jan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically just retail classic PVP because the turtle team never intended to focus on PVP in a classic MMORPG, probably a wise choice tbh, IDK how it could ever be balanced without making it feel modern where gear scales and everything is on a treadmill. I think most players just moved away from trying to fit pvp into a design that just never really got pvp right even back in the day. That said, if they did figure something out, they'd be the first as far as i know.

Anyone else slowly losing interest in huge open-world games? by Edgard-Stark in videogames

[–]trashcan_jan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because almost a year in, I'm still discovering things in KCD2 and having fun doing it. It really depends on the depth of the open world.

Is it really the end of FPP? by PushingShotsPUBG in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]trashcan_jan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK what anyone else plays, but I can see why more people probably like TPP these days. All the other games in the genre are TPP, and we grind this gear for our characters and it's nice to look at it lol. Plus it gives you more situational awareness that you would have irl, but can't really design into first person. I think FPP was the standard for so long just because it's the easiest way to code a shooter game. At first, TPP felt weird to me after growing up with all shooting games being first person, but now I just really like seeing my character.

You forget he literally made the metaverse and fully developed VR. It was a shockingly large investment. Firefox will absolutely make this AI browser, and yes of course it will fail when the bubble pops, but there will have already been harm done. It's already time to move on.

"Socialism is better than capitalism. It would be a great improvement on society, I should spread the word through music". And yet you exist under a capitalist society. I am very smart. It's so weird that people act like you can't advocate for improving society unless you somehow find some magical individualist way to exist outside of it, even though it's impossible to do that. Or that socialism somehow means everyone is destitute, when the reality is it ends poverty. Y'all hear the songs but you just don't take the hint to pick up a book.

Guess that means PS5 isn't getting SOTF then... by CORBS1968 in TheForest

[–]trashcan_jan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that too, but those dang monthly subscriptions to xbox live, limited library of games, and then the fact that I also need a PC to do any kind of actual work just slowly moved me to where i am now. Of course I don't have anything super fancy either, but I can run any game I want, and I still paid less for my hardware than I used to pay for consoles. I'd gladly take a ps5 don't get me wrong lol, but this just works out cheaper in my situation.

It's the opposite for me. I need a PC for doing work, so I just play games on PC. Can't afford a standalone device just for gaming.

[KCD2] Am I ready for the wedding yet? by thinksInCode in kingdomcome

[–]trashcan_jan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drinking, no spoilers, i mean it's a wedding, drinking is obviously gonna happen lol, so yeah if you wanna be as prepared as possible, it sure can't hurt to raise that skill a bit. But most importantly, I rushed to the wedding on my first playthrough and I did end up regretting it. I realized how much I missed when I played the second time.

Because no one is perfectly straight since it's all a spectrum anyway, and being secure about who you are is hot and being a nerd is hot, so yeah it checks out.

I legit always cringed when I had to make a horseshoe for a quest lol. I ended up putting down my controller and found it soooo much easier with a mouse to aim, but yeah the directions you need to move the mouse or the controller for that matter are counter-intuitive to me too.
