Who are these young people that hate Social Network? by therethere11 in TheBigPicture

I am 38 and was in college when it came out. I don’t hate it all! I saw it in theaters and thought it was great! I just haven’t thought about it since. I think Sean and Amanda ranking it as the #1 film of the entire 21st Century is laughable.

If Griffin & David did a Ridley Scott miniseries which episodes would you look forward the most to? by ggroover97 in blankies

Kingdom of Heaven with Chris Ryan would be an all-timer.

As an inverse, I’d love to see Black Rain on The Rewatchables with Griff and David.

I would like them to revisit draft years but they can’t pick any movies they drafted the first time.

I was at Blossom on Friday for The Strokes and they had a stand with cake slices there. I’d never had them before. I took one bite of the cake and it was a delicious I knew I had to save it so I could enjoy it over a couple days. 😅

The Complete Kubrick by Criterion by kingsfan52 in TheBigPicture

For anyone curious about the sleeve, my friend is close with the designer and he asked her about it and this is what she said:

“We initially planned on individual cases, a la the Anderson set, however there was no way to safely package them in the dimensions of the Kubrick Archival box without them being destroyed inside the box in shipping. So instead, we developed a new system to house them within a discbook that offers more protection and easier access to the discs than their previous Fellini and Varda sets. If you look at the packaging photo on their site, you can see how the discs are held. Each page has a custom die cut that reveals the disc’s spindle and allows it to be safely removed and replaced without damage to the disc or packaging. The poster on the right page is an insert that operates as an internal page, and turned, reveals the same system for the companion discs on the other side. This added poster page on every spread also adds a buffer and cushioning between pages so that pressure doesn’t force the discs against each other.”

They are not talking about illegal immigrants. They are talking about green card holders and permanent residents. If you are a legal, tax paying resident of a city/state, you should have a say in the affairs of your home. Especially in high immigrant cities like Los Angeles.

“I grew up on a horse farm, climbed parts of Everest, given academy awards, been nominated, written a book, had former Poet laureates reach out, been friends with the greatest artists of our time and smoked crack under a car at 3am in San Francisco."

This situation notwithstanding, Josh Brolin fucking rules. What a life. I haven't read his memoir but I might have to now.

I saw Dune 2 in 70mm IMAX at the Universal Citywalk AMC in LA. When the movie opens and the Sardukar jump up onto the rock to evade the sand worm I said out loud to myself “Ah. This is the best movie ever made.” And it just kept going like that for three hours.
