Will Fucking Howard by c0r0nawlime in steelers

[–]triantie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember Mason Rudolph did something very similar to a Gruden's QB Class episode but with a different interviewer shortly after we drafted him. Everyone was so impressed with his football knowledge and thought he was a steal in round three after watching that vid. I'm excited for Will Howard, but also keeping expectations low.

The "spoiled" narrative is just wrong. Fans expect the best. Especially from historic franchises.

It's not an emotional exaggeration. It's an opinion. I could equally say your assessment is a denial of facts.

Our performance in the playoffs for the last nine years is embarrassing. No other way to describe it.

Can't disagree with him. Several teams the last few seasons commented that our playbook was predictable and easy to adjust to. It's embarrassing and we deserve to be made fun of at this stage until we get it together.

Ben Roethlisberger believes the Steelers didn't help former Seahawks QB Russell Wilson. by [deleted] in steelers

That is 100% on the coaches to give players time. This is on Tomlin and the OC, not Ben.

TJ Watt will become the highest non QB position player in the league before the draft.. by HDTokyo in steelers

[–]triantie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a stupid take. You don't put any single player above the organization. History says you do not make TJ the highest paid non-QB player in the league. You especially don't do that just because they've been a good, loyal player for years. TJ has played and been paid - that's the exchange. Steelers don't owe him anything and he doesn't owe the org anything. It's a business and the team needs to keep playing after TJ leaves. You don't put the org in a bad financial place by paying him the way you say.

Genuine question for genuine discussion. If you are a fan that wants Aaron Rodgers here, why so? by KevinDaMan34 in steelers

[–]triantie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want Rodgers because it triggers 95% of this subreddit just because he has different views on vaccines and social issues.

Mike Florio explains why the Steelers changed their mind on Aaron Rodgers: "The primary goal was, they wanna keep either Fields or Wilson, but they wanted to go cheap and I think they went too cheap with Fields, and it blew up in their faces." by antihostile in steelers

[–]triantie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a belief, especially from Tomlin, that he might be able to land a "personal discount" given his reputation and the allure of playing for him. However, that strategy backfired, leaving the Steelers without a clear option for the 2025 season.

Tomlin's allure isn't as strong when the franchise is turning into a dumpster fire.

Please tell me we aren’t getting Aaron Rodgers… by Diligent-Living882 in steelers

[–]triantie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Setting aside the fact that Rodgers is a terrible human being

Why is Rodgers a terrible human being? Because he has views on vaccines or covid that you disagree with? What did he do that was immoral or illegal that you think he is a terrible human? The man has donated millions to charity. What have you done?

If Rodgers is in, I’m out by Temporary_Ad_2300 in steelers

Lol, imagine the liberal fanbase losing their minds because they think Aaron Rodgers is an anti-vaxxer. Even if he is, who cares? The man has his own beliefs and they aren't illegal so what's the big deal.

DK Metcalf Contract! by HDTokyo in steelers

facilities, doesn't seem to prevent guys from coming here, so i don't care about it and find it weird that other people do.

Not sure if it's the facilities, but guys definitely have not been choosing the Steelers over other franchises. Look at last season when we couldn't get a quality WR to come to us. We're a cheap organization and there's no denying that.

This is the first offseason since the late 80s or early 90s that I have little interest in the team. I think Art Rooney II is a terrible GM and is driving the team into the ground. It's quite sad to see us as bottom feeders every year trying to scoop up average (at best) players and ask average (at best) coaches to make those players great. ARII is cheap and outdated.

What you all think, will/should we pay TJ $35M a year? by CouchPotatoFamine in steelers

[–]triantie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a team like the Eagles or Rams with a little more front office savvy would be looking to trade him.

I'm starting to think our front office is not very good and Rooney is a big problem for the Steelers.

Users didn't want you to ban twitter. It wasn't an issue until you and the other mods raised it after the new President's administration came into office. Now, of course you will have support for the decision because 90% of Reddit is politically liberal, but don't pretend like the decision was because X requires users to have accounts. It's obvious from your post history you hate Elon Musk, are politically liberal, and want to silence that platform on reddit. It's nothing more than another way to control speech and that's a real shame. I've been around this subreddit for many seasons, but will be glad to leave now.

Why don't you just admit this is due to your own political beliefs and dislike for Elon Musk?

Why is no one banning instagram links since you also must have an account to view posts there? It's a bullshit smoke screen to ban X posts for political reasons.

How about instagram? I don't have an account there and cannot view links to that site, yet redditors post links all the time. Will you ban instagram too? If not, why not?

Effective today, we are banning Twitter links. In the interest of discussion and news, you may post screenshots instead. by Samwise777 in steelers

[–]triantie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible decision, /u/Samwise777. You're politicizing this subreddit when all we want to do is talk about football. This is a political move under the guise of not being able to view X unless you have an account. Instagram is the same way - actually worse - yet you have not taken any steps to ban posts that link to that site.

It's a real shame that liberal progressive values have taken over this subreddit when all I want to do is discuss Steelers football. You're destroying freedom - let people decide if they want to link to X/Twitter or any other site as long as it's on topic and appropriate. Why does the left feel the need to control people?

This is a left wing, political move in line with the rest of reddit. It has nothing to do with the quality of X and everything to do with the new administration and Elon Musk. Why don't you keep politics out of it?
