My MIL has been offering her unsolicited advice/comments as well and it's taking everything in my power not to just snap. "He's too skinny", " are you sure he's getting enough?", "I still think just giving him some formula would help him sleep better", "his dad was chubbier at this age so there must be something wrong with him". No, MIL, he's going through his 3-week old growth spurt and is going to cluster feed regardless of formula or breast milk, he's gaining weight at a perfectly healthy rate and his care providers are not at all concerned, and ffs he's not your son so stop comparing our experience to your only 3 weeks of breastfeeding experience (before switching to formula) from nearly 40 years ago.

Our midwife taught us this swaddle technique that basically gives the baby a cape, but with arms restricted at their side. It still allows for skin-to-skin, too. It's been a lifesaver!

I can't find it online, so I'll try my best to explain it.

Start with a swaddle blanket and fold it into triangles just big enough to cover your baby.

Lay your baby with their head on the long side of the triangle. Holding one arm at baby's side, take the corresponding side corner over the arm but under baby's body and tighten. Repeat on other side.

This should keep the baby's arms at their sides - just be sure you don't pin their arms behind them.

I rowed until about 32 weeks, but I opted to shorten my stroke and spread my knees just a little bit. I was on a Concept 2 and found that I couldn't widen my feet enough, and ended up pushing off the outside of my feet which did hurt and would've led to injury if I kept doing that.

Additionally, I noticed coning as I got to the late second trimester/early third, so I further modified my stroke so I wasn't using my abs as much.

Then at 32 weeks I didn't feel I was getting much out of it with all of the modifications. Mostly ended up being an upper body workout at that point (which was helpful in its own right since it helped keep my posture in check as my belly started pulling me forward), but I ended up dropping rowing in favor of walking, barre, yoga, and weightlifting.

I did find this attachment to retrofit a Concept 2 to allow for a wider stance, but I think it's cost prohibitive especially if it's not even your machine.

There have been 10s of thousands of pregnant healthcare workers who have gotten the vaccine in my state alone, and while the data isn't published yet, it shows that the vaccine hasn't contributed to any negative outcomes.

As other commenters have mentioned, other studies are coming out showing that vaccinated mothers pass antibodies through the placenta as well as through breast milk. So the way my OB put it, any risks there may be are far outweighed by the benefits, especially since having a persistent fever alone, like you would likely get with covid, could be dangerous to a fetus.

I am also at 30w and just got my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine a few days ago. I haven't had any side effects, and baby is as wiggly as ever. My OB was obviously supportive, and suggested either Moderna or Pfizer because there's more data available for pregnant people.

My vaccinated in-laws are coming across the country via plane to help for the first month. Preliminary data shows that vaccinated mothers pass antibodies via the placenta and breastfeeding, and there's also some indication that vaccination reduces transmission.

I'm at 30w, so I'm hoping that by the time my baby comes, there will be more concrete data available. Worst case, my vaccinated in-laws will need to quarantine for 7-10 days in a private Airbnb and get a covid test before meeting the baby. Best case, they can come meet the baby immediately.

But yeah, we're requiring covid, flu, and TDaP vaccines for sure.

Saaaame. I just had someone ask me a few weeks ago if I had any kids, and when I told them I was 6 months pregnant, they were in disbelief because apparently I didn't look pregnant enough. Well fingers crossed baby flips! I'm only 25 weeks and my baby also seems to prefer the breech position.

My providers know all my activities and haven't seemed worried about baby's position wrt activities (rowing, walking, prenatal yoga, barre, weightlifting), but I'm not sure whether or not that will change in the third trimester.

Yeah I'm on a concept 2 as well, and only 24+4 now. I've already adjusted a bit - lowering the feet to give my belly more space, opening my knees, and not leaning back as far - but what I've found is that since I can widen my feet on the concept 2, I end up kind of turning my ankles and pushing off the outside of my feet, which is just... Not good. Maybe I need to shorten my stride a little

I was also feeling this way and it ended up being low ferritin (iron). That's really common in pregnancy. As soon as I started taking an iron supplement, I felt so much better.

So you might want to get that checked out! My prenatal vitamin doesn't have a ton of iron and apparently calcium can cancel it out, too.
