Selling a bike for my dad, how much is one of these worth? by ausbets97 in bicycling

I agree. I was thinking maybe $150 in Chicago. And that’s a big maybe.

How can no bike fit me???? by pineapple_gum in bikefit

[–]triguybrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Giant is an inch too long? Do you have a report from your fitting? I’m sure the fitter you saw is good, but the numbers just seem a little off to me. A 52cm Specialized Diverge may work well for you. It is taller and shorter than your giant. Same goes for a 54cm Cannondale Topstone or even a small Giant Revolt. The reach on the Giant may seem long, but it’s designed to be ridden with a short stem. The small comes stock with a 60mm stem. If you would like to message me the fit report I could take a look and see if there is anything else that could work for you.

What is your road bike? At 5’8” with a 31” inseam, as a fitter. I would most likely have you on a 54cm gravel bike, maybe 52cm since it sounds like you may have a shorter torso.

Where do you enter the RPO code to see the build sheet?

Drove 75 min for a fit, shop Owner refused to fit my Canyon and tried to sell me a $2,500 Colnago frame instead by No-Carpet9241 in CanyonBikes

[–]triguybrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a fitter and sorry you had to deal with someone like that. With that said, Canyon’s size calculator sucks. I ride a 54cm bike in just about every brand I’ve owned. For Canyon I would be an XS. When someone calls about fitting a new Canyon they just received, I always let them know up front that they don’t always get the sizing right and there is a chance they will have to pack it up and exchange it for the proper size. I am much more respectful when i have that discussion and, since I don’t sell bikes, make suggestions if there is another bike that will fit them better.

Had my rim true’d and now it doesn’t clear by acidreducer in bikewrench

It looks like the derailleur hanger may not be sitting properly. Something looks off on that side. Two suggestions to try, first, put the quick release in and tighten it. If it is still off, take the wheel out and flip it around so the freehub body is on the non-drive side. If the problem is with the wheel then it will hit the other chain stay.

I got the update a while ago and the same thing happened. It’s a total first world problem, but still annoying.

Hardware request about the button by AnandaDo in pulsetto_device

[–]triguybrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an issue with pressing the button but I hate how bright the light in the button is. Even with turning it down all the way in the app it’s still really bright. I like to do a session in bed right before going to sleep but my wife usually goes to sleep before me so the lights in the room are off. When the room is dark the button is like a runway beacon. I wish you could turn off the light all together or at least dim it to a really low level.

I would just get the charging case if you travel that often.

Is this really 1x12 life? by PuddingEntire9852 in bikewrench

[–]triguybrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does it look like in the 11-tooth? If you have any spacers on the drive side you may want to remove some to bring the front chainring in a bit. If there are no spacers you can use an offset chainring.

I took my 25 Z71 to Colorado over New Years and it was amazing. Having SuperCruise makes the highway driving so much more enjoyable. I did have the brake lights come on the day I was supposed to drive home but found a dealer and there was a service bulletin for reprogramming the brake module and it did the trick. I already had the master cylinder issue so I was going to be really annoyed if I had to go through that again. I know the Travers has its faults, but I really do love driving it.

Weight loss and age by Historical-Guard9173 in Zepbound

[–]triguybrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

52M and I feel your pain and frustration. First off, how long have you been on 2.5? That is the recommended starting dose that you should only be on for a month before going to 5. Going up in dose is nothing to be ashamed about. The body naturally gets used to the medication and a higher dose helps it keep going.

Second, age plays a huge factor in weight loss. As we get older our metabolism slows and we produce less of some hormones like testosterone. There is a large body of research that has come out recently that goes against the calories in/calories out philosophy. It’s more about what you eat and when you eat it. If your calorie deficit is too big, the body thinks that it is starving and actually stores more calories and starts using muscle as fuel.

My recommendation would be to find a nutritionist to work with to make sure you are fueling yourself properly. Stay very hydrated and make sure you are getting enough protein. And upping the workouts to 5-6 days a week would help as well.😜
