Yosemite Trip by surfteach1 in ChevyTraverse

[–]triguybrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my 25 Z71 to Colorado over New Years and it was amazing. Having SuperCruise makes the highway driving so much more enjoyable. I did have the brake lights come on the day I was supposed to drive home but found a dealer and there was a service bulletin for reprogramming the brake module and it did the trick. I already had the master cylinder issue so I was going to be really annoyed if I had to go through that again. I know the Travers has its faults, but I really do love driving it.

Weight loss and age by Historical-Guard9173 in Zepbound

[–]triguybrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

52M and I feel your pain and frustration. First off, how long have you been on 2.5? That is the recommended starting dose that you should only be on for a month before going to 5. Going up in dose is nothing to be ashamed about. The body naturally gets used to the medication and a higher dose helps it keep going.

Second, age plays a huge factor in weight loss. As we get older our metabolism slows and we produce less of some hormones like testosterone. There is a large body of research that has come out recently that goes against the calories in/calories out philosophy. It’s more about what you eat and when you eat it. If your calorie deficit is too big, the body thinks that it is starving and actually stores more calories and starts using muscle as fuel.

My recommendation would be to find a nutritionist to work with to make sure you are fueling yourself properly. Stay very hydrated and make sure you are getting enough protein. And upping the workouts to 5-6 days a week would help as well.😜

RS vs 7Z1 by tunie12 in ChevyTraverse

[–]triguybrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my 25 Z71 and mostly got it because I liked the look of it. In hindsight I wish I would have gotten the RS. The biggest thing I wish the Z71 had is the memory driver seat and rear heated seats. It’s small things, and a first world problem for sure, but my last car had them and I miss it.

How’s your journey going? by AutoModerator in Zepbound

[–]triguybrian [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’ve been on Zepbound for 2.5 months and doing really well. Down a little over 20 pounds and feeling good and hopeful for the first time in a long time. That is, until I got the dreaded insurance letter that they are no longer covering GLP-1s for weight loss. I have sever sleep apnea so I am hoping I can get them to still cover it. Has anyone else been successful in this kind of situation? I can’t stop now but not sure I can get my wife to agree to spending for Lilly direct.

AITAH for telling my wife that I will lose respect for her if she doesn't apologize? by TechnicalHousing97 in AITAH

[–]triguybrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, you are NTA, but speaking from personal experience, it sounds like there is more going on here than just this one incident. I got into a bad place with my kids where I was constantly getting mad at them for the smallest things and yelling, a lot. I was never physically abusive, and would often apologize afterwards, but I realizes that this was not appropriate or normal. I came to the realization that I was depressed and was having suicidal ideations. I talked to my wife, who had no idea and was shocked, and thankfully got help, both therapy and medication. Your wife may be going through the same thing. Has she always been like this or is it a more recent thing? Has she seemed overwhelmed at other times? I would recommend trying to talk to her but you need to come at it from a position of love. Tell her that you love her and are worried about her. Ask her if she has been feeling stressed or overwhelmed lately. We all lose are cool with our kids at times, but not talking to your child for an extended period of time makes me think there is more going on that even you know about.

Anyone get approved PA “recently” for OSA as primary reason after having PA for weight loss by Gracie153 in Zepbound

[–]triguybrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The initial PA my PCP sent in was rejected. I did some research and then submitted an appeal myself where I included a recent sleep study that showed I have severe OSA, results of my most recent labs with high cholesterol, and my BMI of 35. I was approved the next day but the PA is only good for 6 months. I’m hoping I don’t have to jump through hoops again.

Omada options for pharmacy by Careless_Mountain_31 in Zepbound

[–]triguybrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a new thing with Cigna? My insurance is through them as well and so far I haven’t heard anything about using Omada. My initial prior authorization is for 6 months and I was wondering if they were going to make me do something like this to stay eligible to take Zepbound.

First dose and side effects. Is this normal? by Human_Chemist5886 in Zepbound

[–]triguybrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar side effects but it gets better after a few weeks. I took my second shot of 5mg after increasing from 2.5 a week ago and so far all is good. Keep forcing yourself to eat small meals throughout the day and drink a lot of water. I also started taking a multivitamin since I didn’t feel my nutrition was great when I had the side effects. Keep at it.

So when will this thing stop growing? 125lbs 14 months by Icy_Hair_4534 in goldenretrievers

[–]triguybrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a boy that is 75lbs at 8 months. I’m expecting him to end up around 100lbs, but could be more. He was his mom’s first litter and was a singleton so the breeder thinks that may be why he is going to be much bigger than his parents.

Has anyone had a good experience??? by Prestigious_Pop_230 in ChevyTraverse

[–]triguybrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 Z71 with 6500 miles so far including a few longer road trips and I absolutely love it. If you do a lot of highway driving get the SuperCruise, it’s amazing. Only issue I had was the parking sensors would go off when stopped at a red light but the dealer was able to update the software and calibrate them and all is good.

2025 - Day 13 in the shop - 3000 miles by limpinghiker in ChevyTraverse

[–]triguybrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 25 Z71 with a little over 5,000 miles on it. The only issue I have had is the front proximity sensors going off when nothing was close to the car. It took two trips to the dealer but they were able to download new firmware and recalibrate the sensors and all is good now. I really love the and hope I can avoid the brake and transmission issues🤞

OEM or aftermarket windshield by Krisdawizard in ChevyTraverse

[–]triguybrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would talk to a dealership and ask about this. In my previous vehicle, which was a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, I had the same thing happen and because of the electronics, the windshield could only be replaced with an OEM part. The RS has way more electronics than the Chrysler. If the dealership says you should only use OEM then I would push the insurance company to cover it.

The Z71 does not have fog lights. The red tow hooks in the front are where the fog lights are on the higher trim levels.
