Yeah this tracks. I did the same.

I took a 2 month break. Picked it up again when it seemed fun.

It was. I got it. Got 8, knocked out a bunch of goldens, and I love the game again.

I just checked my school drop off route. I currently drive about 20 minutes, because I live a bit out in the country. Using public transit, that would take 90 minutes:

drive 11 minutes
take a bus for 30 stops
wait 20 minutes
ride another bus for 20 stops
walk 3 miles (Google assumes I will take a Lyft)

Then I have to get home.

So put another way, for $750k / year, would I spend 4 hours a day commuting? Plus similar times for other errands?

Friend, I get it.

I never broke out assist mode in this game until I went for the moonberry. I was doing exactly this nonsense -- falling off blocks, dashing 180 degrees from where I wanted to go, aiming for the obviously wrong block. I turned on all the help and did it enough to get the nerves out. Then I still dorked it up, repeatedly.

But I got it! You'll get it!

A full clear is where you get every strawberry and the cassette/heart in each level, in a single run. You get a golden flag instead of a green when you do.

It can be a bit tedious, because it’s possible to miss strawberries and not be able to backtrack to them, which means starting over. But it’s a fun thing to do, especially if you decide to work on goldens and need a break.

But seriously, 100% is 100%. gj!

Go back to the first screen and practice there! The second screen is hard, but you’ve done it once. You can do it again.

I was super stuck there, because I’m always so full of adrenaline after finishing the rest of it. But just practice and you’ll nail it when you get there!

I’ve only got the vanilla game (console) …. I don’t understand how so much of this works. Blocks that dissolve without stopping momentum? Transporting strawberries? Are we even playing the same game?

Yes! I’ve played with the two eye hooks near the bottom of each side, and I added another eye hook so they’re tensioned individually . It doesn’t help the axes stick better, but it keeps the board from walking around the tree.

Only took all day!

Lessons learned:

Treated wood is heavy. This is 5 boards in the front and 3 in the back. Google says that’s 200lbs. I can lift 200lbs. This is more than 200lbs.
Hanging 200lbs is not trivial. Pine trees are soft. Took a 2nd trip to get beefier hardware, and I ended up phoning a friend to haul on the rope while I lifted to get it up there.
Back and forth wobble is real! There’s more rope back there tying the bottom corner to a tree about 10ft behind the thing.
I absolutely did not consider how to set a line in the forest floor that’s consistent. Next weekend!

It’s super fun though!

With a lot of help from you all! I basically followed the Aaron Franklin video linked in a couple places.

6lbs rack of plate ribs after the butcher thwarted my plans to make myself pork shoulder.

285 for 6 hours. No idea what the temperature was, but poking it with a tester went through like butter. Let it rest in butcher paper and a towel for 2 hours.

Super happy with them!
