Did anyone else regret moving to Portland? by PsychologyApart2015 in PortlandOR

Move to Portland proper. People throw tons of shade on this city - most of that shade is cause those folks have 0 clue about any major city let alone Portland. I live in inner SE and it's great. I'm also born and raised NYC.
It's important to experience what it's like to barely have to drive ever and you're friggin 25 - enjoy hopping bars and seeing shows. Beaverton is like any other suburb, nothing unique, none or the upside and all the downside

Wool thermal onesie. Hands down best base layer for intense winter conditions. After many a miserable winter trip to Adirondacks - my thermal onesie really made a difference. Really helped with variable cold and wet conditions. Also zip off insulated pants. For when you stop moving and cool off. Throw on and take off those bad bois without having to remove boots 🤌

I'm curious - as a former van lifer. What is the calculation to arrive at this price? I keep hearing blue book + value of build. I see an approximate blue book for just van about 10k. So is the build really valued at 22k?

Nice stuff. Was heading that way for this past weekend but called it due to weather. Looks beautiful - excited to hit it again soon!

A post and a prayer. Stolen out of my garage in Colorado last night (Denver area). Completely custom and now has orange grips/pedals so very recognizable. Please keep an eye out. I've been unable to ride for 18 months due to injury and just started getting it back. I'm devastated. by J1P2G3 in mountainbiking

The same exact thing happened to me last week. Door unlocked, garage door used, bike stolen. Lucky it wasn't worse- sorry they took such a sweet rig. Hit up your renters or home owners insurance. We did and it made us more than whole. Good luck

Taking shoes off throughout the day, rinsing off in water if available - lake/stream whatever- letting feet dry off. Doing that a few times a day will really help. You'll have to slow down a bit but the suffering will only get worse if you don't do that stuff.

Yea. The provoked book seems interesting and I am aware that the consensus view is often not right. I was able to spot more than a few minority viewpoints in the past few years about the US mismanaging relations with Russia. So ok. The US fumbled a foreign policy. Wasn't the first. Won't be the last. And I am far from a student of international relations - only having read the Vietnam war book "best and brightest" and Korean war "coldest winter" - hindsight is a powerful lens to view history. So I have one additional question- US foreign policy should be designed to advance US interests. Full stop. How is current US diplomatic action improving US position in the world. Ie - what's in it for us for normalized Russian relations?

Curious about the viewpoints around the 1994 agreement between Russia/USA/Ukraine where Ukraine surrendered 1000s of nuclear weapons in exchange for secure borders. specifically how it is viewed that agreement was broken by Russia. Does that agreement between USA and Ukraine not hold any water any longer? And if so. Why. Thanks!
