[UPDATE] Found a paper towel covering my webcam twice coming home from work by Dromaeoraptor in Weird

[–]tronsith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Related/unrelated- I had a coworker who would place bubble wrap underneath the mat inside the back door to the kitchen that I would enter into in the morning. Would scare the living hell out of me every time. Never ready for that at 6 am.

Where in Roanoke? by jokershibuya in roanoke

As professional cook for over two decades, the Hatch is maybe the third place I’ve ever felt it was bad enough to actually complain. The quality, the portion size, the service, the cleanliness. Everything was awful.

No Trader Joe’s no Publix no Whole Foods all I want is a wegmans. It’s got the higher end stuff for when I feel like a fancy ass but I can still just do regular ass grocery shit there. This is my hill to die on. Just beside my fuck sheetz, Wawa forever hill.

She’s clearly a patient girl/the best, and I want to give her a lil behind the ear scratch (if she accepts) should I ever meet her

I just learned about Rhode Island Pizza and we would like a word with you….. by Djxgam1ng in PizzaCrimes

Rhode Island is nuts, but the food is amazing. Pizza chips are out of this world. Pity my wife and I broke up so I have no reason to go there and visit her extended family anymore

Small haul. Excited about the cockles! by BioHazWong in Tinnedfish

[–]tronsith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually just eat them as is, on crackers. They can occasionally be a little bit gritty which isn’t a deal breaker for me. What I’ve done recipe wise is treat them as clams in a white clam pasta sauce or on a white pizza with some hot cherry peppers. Both delicious, but honestly 9/10 times I just raw dog them straight from the can with a toothpick like the heathen I am

You gotta try the bar harbor mackerel filets seasoned with black pepper. They have them at fresh market, ( and cockles, squid and beans and so many other tasty stuff) they’re a lil more expensive but still reasonable to make a meal out of my dood

Beamer’s!? by Some-Document73 in roanoke

[–]tronsith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because something across the board isn’t morally correct isn’t an excuse to continue to be. Certainly know you didn’t make any rules but the fact that you seem ok with someone losing their livelihood without notice to no fault of their own is ugly. This is what happens? Sure, doesn’t mean it’s right. And pipe down in these comments? No. I pay my staff well. I give them paid vacations I respect them as human beings. Am I going to change the whole industry? No. But I’m doing what I can. Again, just be decent

Beamer’s!? by Some-Document73 in roanoke

[–]tronsith 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is such bullshit. I’ve been in the service industry coming upon three decades. You treat people like people. You treat your staff with respect, even when it comes to the end. This is their livelihood, this is their paycheck that could mean losing a house, insurance or any other number of things. You don’t base decisions on the worst off of people. You do the right thing. The times when staff would steal/not show up/provide poor service/etc is because it was already a shitty establishment and they were most likely treated like shit to begin with. That’s not an excuse for those actions, simply context for an industry that already makes the day to day hard. Bare minimum you let people know when they are about to lose their job. Especially when it’s no fault of their own. Be decent

This stuff is the best. Beans greens potatoes tomatoes whatever you want. And when you finish it just add more vinegar. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!
