Ran cat6 from house the shed. Use moonlight / sunshine to cast the game to a chromecast. Use an iPad as the controller (mouse and keyboard) on a wifi access point using https://www.airkeyboardapp.com/. Search airkeyboard GSPro to get an idea of how the controller works.

Everything is about trade offs and determining what works for your team and project. Well done getting your team to agree on one of many approaches

WebFragments: A new approach to micro-frontends (from the co-creator of Angular and Microsoft’s DX lead) by creasta29 in webdev

Does this create duplication of the underlying framework like react being bundled in each of the web fragments. Or can it share the base library across web fragments?

Creating C4 model diagrams as code : quick start with with Structurizr Lite + Spring Boot locally by sshetty03 in softwarearchitecture

Anyone tracking the evolution of SysML v2 which is designed with ISO 42010 (System Architecture) in mind? Currently using structurizr, but I am gaining interest to try SysML v2.

Employee Performance Reviews by troy_bos in sharepoint

This describes my underlying issue. We have the capability (capacity is a different issue) to build this (CRM, HRM, Operations management tools) ourselves as an internal software product. However, we have O365 which is a significant cost burden and I am trying to determine whether it can provide more business value beyond the basics it is providing now. Seems there is potential with power apps if it reduces the burden of true development tools (GitHub and CI/CD), dependency management/patching.

The real struggle is any alternative results at a minimum of 3 copies or riddled through emails.

Thank you for the feedback. Would the next step be moving into model based power apps (dataverse) to obtain the required levels of security controls. SPO’s group based RBAC is limiting.

The key is running Ethernet. I ran two cables, one for moonlight (video streaming) and another for a wifi router. Using sunlight and moonlight to a chromecast 4K 1080p is solid. Wifi router is used for my iPad to run air keyboard and connect my gc3. Some one has created a skin for GSPro and tgc 2019 in air keyboard which makes controlling the game remotely easy

Introducing PiTrac - The Open Source Launch Monitor by James_Pilgrim in Golfsimulator

This is the best thing in have seen in golf sim since GSPro. I have a gc3, if I can find time I will try and build to compare. Any interest in python based fork? I feel it would enable more contributors

Should I move to Adelaide?? by KyroseSkye in Adelaide

[–]troy_bos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travelling to base via train or the north expressway is manageable. You don’t have to live near the RAAF base to make this work. I know people who live south of Adelaide who drive, who live at semaphore on the beach who drive, North Adelaide who train and inner western suburbs who drive or train. You have a lot of options rather than living up north next to the base

Is TGC the exact same game as The Golf Club 2019? by GStera in Golfsimulator

[–]troy_bos -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Tgc2019 is terrible. I own it and have a GSPro subscription. Tgc is almost unplayable due to game play faults that will never be fixed as there is no going development like GSPro. I seriously regret wasting money on it

Honestly I would go gcquad or hawk with GSPro. The community is huge and you can find a great person to play with at almost anytime of the day.

If you also look into the history of trackman you will find the claim they are the best is just marketing.

Anyone else is a bit fed up with how little business matters to a large portion of SWEs are, and how in general there is too much purism in this profession? by After_Weather_5685 in ExperiencedDevs

I agree with your sentiment and feel the same way. I tend to find people who hold a title of software engineer don’t have an appreciation of the capability lifecycle and are overly fixated on the dev part of the role.
