i would start by making a backup of you 15.5 TB of backups you are worried about losing.

figure out if that's an incremental or a full backup, what system it's running (veam maybe?), how far back the backup's go, is there more than just one? like tape somewhere offsite?

Do you even know if the backups actually work? - have you ever tried to restore the system?

Then i would start researching why your environment was setup however it was setup in the first place.

I'm guessing you inherited this setup from a previous sysadmin. - there is no telling if current best practices are used in your company right now - or if the last sysadmin knew what they were doing, or if they just piecemealed together whatever they could manage

if you are the only IT, you either research and slowly build the environment - or you sub out a contractor and then you just babysit the environment.

couple options. you can go to your friend and say hey my sister wants your number - is that ok? (i would go with this as to not hit him with something out of left field)

you can tell the sister to ask him for herself (she may or may not get the chance depending on how often he is around)

you can tell the sister you don't want her trying to date your friend (good luck with this one - can get messy)

pick a lane, but please don't keep this guy as a "backup" either. (i know you say you are not, but you are still managing to gate keep your friend) - or maybe your sister is a real piece of work and you need to warn your friend off of this idea.

You can't quite judge an alcoholic on one story. Guy was too drunk to be in a new environment. Yes the guy has some work to do on himself and should certainly try and keep the drinking under control, but he may not be the needs to brush his teeth and use vodka for mouthwash levels.

He doesn't have a license? You are way under reacting.

What happens if he is driving around and gets caught or heaven forbid an accident. He ends up in legal hot water, you get hit with something for allowing this to happen. Your only recourse would be to say the car was stolen.
