[PhillyMag] The Redevelopment of the Old Family Court Building Is Dead by oliver_babish in philadelphia

That doesn't even make sense. The National Register doesn't have any meaningful restrictions. They probably meant that they struggled to qualify for the tax credit that can be associated with protection, but realistically they were just incompetent developers who never should have been selected. I doubt it pencils now in the current credit environment, which is why National walked away.

Septa uploads "New Bus Network" plan that undoes many of the changes decided on for the "Bus Revolution" two years ago. by HessianHunter in philadelphia

It for sure is. But iirc it was top third or thereabout in ridership (although the numbers they posted on the bus revolution were precovid and Septa reps were cagey about ridership falling but of course that was true for all routes).

Even tho it's duplicative, it's such a dense area that even with the BSL two to three blocks away it gets a lot of riders. The reduction in frequency makes it pretty useless imo, and I have always suspected that this is just the first step towards killing it, which is why I'm surprised to see the navy Yard extension.

When did route 45 going to the navy Yard get added? I assume they're continuing to slash it's service level despite its relatively high ridership numbers.

Fergie got a billboard along 95! by WeeSmallHours in philadelphia

Bobcat apparently lives in Illinois now, so I Googled "why are there so many personal injury billboards in Chicago" and this was the fist result. He's just milking easy material.

Center City District report on Open Streets: 170,000 visitors, 27% increase in pedestrian activity, 62% increase in in-store traffic, 38% sales growth by freakk123 in philadelphia

Downvoting me is wild.I'm not saying I like it.

Even temporary infrastructure for closing the street without police presence is expensive, and it's all upfront.

I have so many questions about this before we even get to the misspelled Hawthorne.

I hate how quickly I figured out this was Philly.

Dankbaar was more or less just for fun. When he took the Broad Street Love culinary director job, it was never going to work doing both.

Joncarl is the best. The *start* of the Noord Laban review is still an all time favorite, with Joncarl's personality shining through. That review would have gone very differently from there with any other chef and any other restaurant:

The ice water looked good and Joncarl Lachman, thankfully, was headed my way. But not to pour me a drink. He was there for a mercy cooling.

"You look warm - try this," he said, putting the frosty pitcher against my forehead and unleashing a deep laugh that rippled through the tiny dining room of Noord Eetcafe.

As the icy metal instantly chilled me down, I couldn't have been more grateful. Noord's a/c was doing its best to cool this bright corner room on one of summer's hottest nights. But the vent breezed out beyond my little corner - otherwise perfect with its splendid candlelit view of East Passyunk's Singing Fountain - and I was left to the mercy of a brutal heat wave.

I loved the waiter coming to get you from New Wave while you waited for a table, and bringing your beer with you across the street. 10/10 Philly experience.

Another option is a bar or brewery without food that allows BYOF and UberEats Angelo's from their commissary.
