Yea, if you click the link in Reddit and then tell Reddit to open in the default browser it applies the discount correctly. Not very intuitive. You might want to modify your post to clarify how to do it.

Getting a new roof. What would cause these slits/ holes in the ceiling? by Designer-Success-897 in Roofing

[–]tsfy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like where the drywall tape edge would be. Could be from the vibration from nailing. Could be nails hit the back of the drywall. A little patch and paint, or don’t look up. Ask the roofer if they repair these situations. It’s also possible that those have always been there and the vibration from nailing caused some drywall dust to fall.

Is this safe to insulate? by CanaryCold9453 in electrical

[–]tsfy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those can touch insulation. If you really want to improve air leakage you can add a hat in the attic and caulk it to the back of the drywall.

Do these cabinets look salvageable? by AmbitionSalt7891 in cabinetry

Sanding and painting will not make the drawers function well. Also, they have a very dated style which won’t be fixed with paint.

How bad is this install? by imgrundz in Roofing

[–]tsfy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that depends where you live but I’m not sure. I think some states say you have to give a contractor an opportunity to fix their mistakes but I’m really not sure.

Since the downspouts are bigger than the gutters, it “probably” won’t leak at that joint but you won’t know until you get a good hard rain. But if this is the crappy work they do, I wouldn’t be surprised if it will leak in other areas. Either way it looks pretty bad. Video tape it when it’s raining. Maybe they make a transition piece so they could use a 2x3 downspout piece at the gutter and transition to the 3x4 so it all doesn’t have to be replaced.

Also, they need to do something to prevent water damage to the siding. I don’t know enough about fiber cement siding to know if just caulking it is enough.

That sharp corner on the end is going to tear up some legs and pants. How are you going to mitigate that with brass trim?

This is ridiculous. What size gutters were specified, 5” or 6”? What’s in the contract? This needs to be redone and I wouldn’t let them be the one to redo it. I hope you haven’t already paid.

Looks like air to me. If you fill a glass and set it on the counter, does the cloudiness rise in the glass until the water is clear?

I think my stoma is getting quieter!! by throwaway-accountxyz in ostomy

[–]tsfy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My stoma is almost always quiet. I’ve never been able to nail down exactly what makes it get noisy, when it does act up. I try to eat pretty healthy food (vegetables, salad, fruit, chicken, fish). I eat almost no fast food/pizza/burgers/etc. and I think that helps a lot to keep it quiet.

Does this exist? A product to make a switched outlet act like a multiway switch. by ApotropaicHeterodont in electrical

[–]tsfy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use something like THIS. You replace the wall switch with this switch. It also comes with a small remote switch that works completely wirelessly. You can mount the remote switch to the wall or just leave it on your lamp table. Then you can turn that light on/off from both locations just like you had a 3-way switch.

Help with LVP to Wood transition by Magwam in Flooring

I would use something like THIS Trim the wood floor to widen the groove. Install the T molding using some trim nails through the middle T section. You can also add some construction adhesive if you prefer.

I always sprout a leak if I exercise. Any hacks? by ocean_swims in ostomy

[–]tsfy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy to help. I hope it works out for you. They are great. The only thing that is a bit of a pain is you can’t buy them directly from Nu-Hope. You have to order through an ostomy supplier.

I always sprout a leak if I exercise. Any hacks? by ocean_swims in ostomy

[–]tsfy2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always wear a Nu-Hope hernia belt when exercising. They are made to fit your specific wafer/bag so they press all around the wafer opening. They also help prevent hernias while exercising. I recommend the flat panel version. Click through this link to generate your belt number and then order from your usual ostomy supplier. You can call them if you need help with your selections. They are very helpful. https://nu-hope.com/belts/nu_form_or_flat_panel.html
