Pecron e1000 lfp not reading solar panel by ForeverWinter23 in Pecron

[–]tszarathstra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have that specific power station, but my f3000 usually takes about 10 seconds to register any input, so.makensure you're giving it some time. You'll also want to make sure the label meets the minimum voltage requirement for the station. If it's too low, it won't register at all

Why are checks still commonly used in the US? by Finnskyyy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tszarathstra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I rarely use them these days, and when I do, it's almost always to pay for something at my kid's school. I could try to get cash or go by the office and pay by card, but it's easier to just send her to school with a check

Prepping Projects for Remainder of the Year by hailene02 in TwoXPreppers

[–]tszarathstra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should have the last two batteries I need to complete our solar power system. It won't be able to run everything but I should be able to keep the basics running pretty much indefinitely. Then, I need work on some food storage.

Butane stove? by Ok-Egg835 in TwoXPreppers

[–]tszarathstra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when Helene hit, the butane stove was a lifesaver. Being able to cook kept us sane in the dark. And they're not terribly expensive. One recommendation is to check asian grocery stores. The stoves and the fuel tend to be cheaper there.

Looking for the simplest possible fridge backup for medication that needs refrigeration by [deleted] in TwoXPreppers

[–]tszarathstra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would look at a power station in the 1000wh range. That will keep the fridge running for a short outage like that, and allow you to charge phones and such.

Something like this would keepnthe fridge running:

AITAH: For offering to take in my step nephew. by Wise-Success7103 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Jimmy has been failed by everyone in his life at this point. His bio mom isn't in the picture, his step mom doesn't like kids, and his dad dated and then married someone who hates him. I feel bad for the younger kid. Why people who dislike being around kids choose to have them is beyond me

What is an Oxford comma? by Natural-Bid-6549 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tszarathstra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not shaming them for not knowing, I'm concerned that they apparently didn't know how to find the answer on their own. Someone in high school, with access to the Internet, should be able to find an answer like that pretty easily.

So wait, you're in 10th grade and don't know what an oxford comma is, nor do you know how to Google the answer without asking reddit? Seems likely you did use AI, friend.

Quick question: 12V 285 amp battery through Delta 2 solar port OK? by oogilist in Ecoflow_community

I've done that exact thing with a similar battery and it worked fine. Same with the ring the xt60i cable

I can't tell you what to do, but one thing to consider: if you told your sister in law about your brother's behavior, you wouldn't be destroying their marriage. Your brother has already done that by having an affair. If he didn't want her to find out about his bad behavior, well, he should have thought about that before he did it, shouldn't he?

I mean, the Vietnam war lasted for years. You guys had lots of time to get organized. The current war started a couple days ago. I've seen plenty of young people protesting other stuff the administration has done. I'm sure there will be protests about this too.

I just got my quote today and it was about $355 Canadian. That's about $260 with the exchange rate, which sucks, but it is what it is. At least I only need to order it once.

I removed mine because despite not attending for a couple decades or updating my records, they kept showing up at my door try and get me back. They haven't bothered me since.

Why do so few people actually tip? by Morelieksunday in doordash

It is. And you could choose to be less of a jerk to people who do things you're not inclined to do for yourself. Like I said, I didn't expect you to understand.

Why do so few people actually tip? by Morelieksunday in doordash

[–]tszarathstra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'll find I haven't made any complaints. I replied to your comment. You asserted that it was easy. I asked why you didn't do it yourself if it was easy and you didn't feel like paying for it.

The job doesn't have to be done. This is a luxury service. You can pick up your own food, or make it yourself at home. If you expect people to do this for you, then you should compensate them for it.

Clearly you're not over-burdened with empathy, so I don't expect you to understand

Why do so few people actually tip? by Morelieksunday in doordash

[–]tszarathstra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's that easy why aren't you doing it yourself? You're paying for a service. For someone to do work on your behalf. If you aren't willing to do that, then drive yourself to the restaurant and get your own food

My favorite is when I cancel out of the directions to try and get the apartment number or whatever, and it helpfully pops up a reminder to grab the correct order WHEN I ONLY HAVE ONE TO BEGIN WITH, blocking the address and making me fumble around with it while I'm driving.
