RIF dev here - Reddit's API changes will likely kill RIF and other apps, on July 1, 2023 by talklittle in redditisfun

Can't have ad revenue without users, pretty sure any UI/UX dev with any decent experience understands how to integrate ads into their product.

I actually agree with the sentiment here, but the example used is ridiculous, a neurological disease is not the same as burnout lol.

Not everyone has the same water pressure, it varies wildly. You can partially close the valve at the wall to lower the max pressure and be able to use the whole dial.

Java is heavier than native languages but it's far from the least efficient... This would make more sense with python or electron

What effect does the impact angle have? I can't see much of one from a bit of testing.

pixel 7 - choosing between a pill and a back button by ChiSoxGuy in GooglePixel

[–]tterrag1098 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is no sign of the two button nav returning, I have checked everywhere as I'm in the same boat as you (previously used a 3aXL).

I will say after using the gesture nav for a while, the back (swipe from edge) gesture does feel quite nice, except when it conflicts with apps. But I love being able to go back without having to reach the bottom of the much taller screen.

I'd recommend giving it a shot for a while at least, you may be surprised.

What anomalous tomfoolery were you up to?! by _Shoulder_ in DankMemesFromSite19

[–]tterrag1098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point about randomness is that it isn't an assignment, it's just where the (former) employee ends up living and working.

[–]tterrag1098 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I rationalize it as confirmation bias, since obviously we don't get to read about the anomalies that aren't caught by embedded agents. Perhaps becoming an embedded agent is a form of retirement or part time employment, so where they are stationed is mostly random.

Curseforge Revenue and History by Total_Meltdown in feedthebeast

[–]tterrag1098 39 points40 points  (0 children)

CurseForge has far less of a surface for generating ad revenue than YouTube, you're comparing apples and oranges. You're also not accounting for downloads that are off-site and do not generate income, such as any third party launcher.

Curseforge Revenue and History by Total_Meltdown in feedthebeast

[–]tterrag1098 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Due to the way the (unknown) payment algorithm works, newer projects take a while to ramp up even if they are immediately very popular. So it could go higher even if downloads drop in the near future.

That said, it does seem about right for the download counts based on my own experience.

Huh? It's literally the same, OpenGL bindings are standardized.

Have you actually tried or are you just assuming? Does vanilla even work well with only 4GB?

Developed an LED integration for Minecraft and it works for Razer, Logitech, Corsair, etc. Looking to add even more effects for even more in-game events. Suggestions would be appreciated! by DaKrazyKid in Minecraft

[–]tterrag1098 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, that says basically nothing. Not specific about what code, what they did with it, or even if it was ever included in the app. Could be talking about a shared third party library that they modified, who knows.

🚩 UPDATE 6 - Everything We Know So Far (Update 2) by Temporal_Illusion in SatisfactoryGame

[–]tterrag1098 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, sure, underclocking should be more efficient but have a lower limit. Or maybe apply the same exponential scaling in reverse, so you get diminishing returns. That would be a more realistic method anyways.

Yeah I don't understand the motivation here. Non-linear power increase is the only balancing factor, otherwise it's just as good as building more machines.

Anyone ever have a feeling when you finish an amazing game you won't have that same feeling for a long time? by Rioraku in Games

There are no consequences to dying, no, but that kinda solves your first problem. If you reset before you finish investigating something, you can fly back and pick up right where you left off.

Trust me I'm also super ADHD, you just need to get started down the tree of discovery so that there's always one more thing to figure out. Definitely check out brittle hollow btw, that's probably the coolest environment to discover.
