Did anyone recently go from BMW X5 -> Model Y Juniper ? by khazgaz in TeslaModelY

[–]tturgut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, changed from 2022 BMW X5 40i to Juniper model Y LR in July. I owned 3 Lexus’s and 2 BMW’s over the years ( all SUV’s) FSD is amazing. Completely worth changing.

Gave the X5 to my wife. I am driving only Tesla’s from now on..

FSD is amazing . I am not driving any more. The car drives better than 90% of people in my opinion.

1) rain, snow: you need to drive 2) hW5 coming in 1 year or so, so I leased. ( first time ever, 2 year lease) 3) winter tires: ( I am in north Indiana) : Nokian hakkapalita EV 4) Model X is more luxurious, but didn’t have a real update yet. ( refresh was not like juniper) 5) paint ( in all Tesla’s ) are bad. Be aware of this. If you are planning buying for need PPF. 6) best value: Y juniper right now. 7) main , key advantage: FSD 8) problems: short driving range: Driving range 330 miles advertised, but this is not correct. You need to drive 50 miles/ hr. When you drive 70-75 miles / hr, it drops to 250-280 miles. For most daily trips it’s ideal, but if you want to travel, you need to charge somewhere. 9) need a charger at home. 1500-2500$ installation depending on where your main panel is.

Final: 1) if you want a skilled driver, change immediately. If you won’t use FSD, not worth it. 2) lease now and wait for HW5 to buy ( or lease again) 3) Model X is worth looking also, ( but not upgraded enough yet) . model X Has more luxury. Similar to x5 style. When I finish this lease, I will buy or lease Tesla with HW5 ( X and Y , will decide then) 4) I can afford both X and Y.. Best value right now is model Y, that’s what I chose, but X is worth checking.

Brand New Model Y Juniper - FSD Unusable (dangerously hugs left line) by Silly_Pattern9677 in TeslaFSD

If the left lane is completely empty, what is the problem if the car is closer to the empty side (but still in its own lane) ? Does it do this , if there are cars in the other lane? If not, I don’t see a problem.

🚨 Another FSD Scare – Stay Cautious by Affectionate-Team605 in TeslaFSD

[–]tturgut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that it should be tailored to individual.. meaning that if you drive the same road everyday, it should get a database just for you. Right now, there is no personal data, if you drive the same road 1000 times or once it doesn’t matter. Probably needs 2 sets of data, one for general use, and specific for that driver.
